Well, compound exercises ARE KING, and there's no doubt about dat! But I just think that some kind of curl is necessary for full and complete biceps development, but maybe I'm just hoping that's true, seeing that ma bis are my worst upper body part lol

you can either contract a muscle or not there is no such thing as complete or incomplete bi development.
As much as I think you are flat wrong on a lot of what you say,Dorian (and I) agree with this. The muscle either contracts or it doesnt.

Not exactly man, but I will give you the answer: palm fully supinated, elbow flexed as much as possible, and upper arm raised to the ear. And that covers the 3 major actions of the biceps: supination, elbow flexion, and shoulder flexion So, the biceps do indeed contract when one perform a row or a pulldown, but usually only one of the biceps actions are called into play during those movements (elbow flexion)
A pulldown with palms fully supinated, or a barbell row for that matter, covers 2 of those bases ie elbow flexion and supination, but neither of them involve shoulder flexion. Yes, shoulder extension, but not shoulder flexion.
How? Should flexion is involved in pushing movements (presses) not pulling movements.
