In times of national emergency or war, the balance which may usually exist between freedom and national security often tips in favour of security. This shift may lead to allegations that the nation in question has become, or is becoming, a police state.
Go wiki the definition police state dipshit. There are varying degrees. Is the US a totalitarian regime with a secret police force killing people and squashing political dissent by force? Maybe maybe not. Depending on how informed you are and what your views are on certain topics. But the above characteristic describes America to a fucking T. If you can't see that put down the donuts and pick up a fucking book, a history one at that.
The police state America is becoming is not in your face. It's subtle, it's powerful, it's invasive......but it's there and it's growing. Dept. of Homeland Security and TSA are perfect examples. We are giving up our freedoms in favor of security. No the gestapo isn't walking around with billy clubs smashing people in the face like other countries. But that doesn't change the facts or the end result.
