Or get a ex police vehicle at a Police Auction, cheap, big, reliable car. Or get a used Crown Vic, Mercury Marquis or Buick, general these cars were owned by older people, so they are well take care of.

I would not do the used cop car but otherwise good advice right there.

A late model Crown Vic, 4.6 V8, full frame solid vehicle, cheap, reliable and strong enough to go mad max if you need too.
No way in hell I would want to drive a unibody beer can on 695, lived in that hell hole for 30 years, I know how those retards drive.

you're a dumbass

first off, i can afford to spend 12k on a 'beater' while you're still driving an $800 (overpriced) turd with horrible reliability ratings.

second, this beater has to withstand the worst roads in baltimore city, be comfortable, reliable, low in miles, and haul my kid around.  i don't need to spend $800 on something that will break down in the middle of the ghetto.

Perfect GetBig come back.

Lol at the comment about 695, and 495 is no better---except a parking lot.

Baltimore huh? Get a Japanese car. The ghetto people in Baltimore are only interested in Caddies, Lincolns, and SUV's! That'll save ya from getting jacked!

Unfortunately, 1996 Acura Legends are very popular, so are Acura Vigors

You're an idiot.

Check ebay, you can get a great car for 12k, you can get a good car for 6k.

again.. dumbass

if you consider $12k a great car than i assume you live in cairo.  and unless you're buying new and don't feel the need to test drive you'd have to be an even bigger dumbass to buy a car sight unseen thru an online auction.

the only reason i sold mine was because it turned into a race car...it ran high 8's on nitrous....then i built a new engine, and it ran 8's all motor...and got 1 mile per gallon ;D

the guy i sold it to still has it, and still races it...i still tune on it sometimes...

Thats great that it's still running and obviously running pretty damn well.  Shame that so many cars produced now aren't going to be around 20 yrs down the road.

and its purely owner error...nothing is wrong with them, just harder to work on so people dont try to learn how to work on them..

he had to replace a rod(too much nitrous), and some gaskets(standard maintenance), and mill the heads once(he forgot to add coolant)....but that is nothing for a car like that....still sports all the same shit..the tranny is even still good...
