Maybe he doesn't know what he wants?

not "knowing what you want" is not being able to decide on spaghetti or pizza for dinner

how does somebody go from one extreme (juicing for muscle) to another extreme (hating and wanting to lose muscle)?

please ask him this, leafy

to juice would mean you really want muscle

i can understand people quitting because they have other priorities, but how does somebody go from juicing to "hating" and wanting to lose muscle?

E
HEEEELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO???? Have you read getbig lately? Friend gets into bodybuilding and wants to be a bodybuilder more then anything. Sees all the negativity but it doesn't quite sink in. Friend discovers getbig. Negativity sinks in after a year or so. Friend loses motivation and realizes aspirations of muscles is a hopeless pursuit and then proceeds to diet as much muscle off as possible to appear normal.

If we were to dig deeper, and this is merely my insight on the whole situation, he liked being muscular and lean and looking good and would like to be 240 at single digit body fat if it didn't require the obvious. Too much to risk when trying to be a good citizen.

Hi Getbig

I am the person in the photographs (you can refer to me as Donny Brooke). I have been a faithful follower of Getbig since 2005. I was the one that in fact introduced The_Leafy_Bug to this wonderful forum - You're welcome! If you read his posts, I am referenced in many of them as an example to prove his theories/points.

Let me give you a summary of a summary with my experience in the bodybuilding world. I started working out at the age of thirteen and quickly ventured into the world of bodybuilding. The first time I picked up a weight it felt completely natural, I told myself I would never give up lifting; I am sure some of you have had a similar experience. I bought a lot of books and studied the various exercise methods and eventually joined a local gym. I was taught how to properly lift with intensity from an old school bodybuilder.

My life was obsessed with building a 'competitive' physique similar to what was displayed in the magazines. I grew quickly and consistently. By the time I was fifteen I competed in my first show and did well (weight was 162). At this point, I was excelling well beyond my age and made a lot of connections with respected competitors in my area. They were all shady, but I dismissed those experiences and continued forward.

I strategically grew every year from dieting and 'bulking'. I reached close to 230# and did all the heavy inclines presses (400#), deadlifts (650#), etc. At this point, bodybuilding was easy and effortless. My last show was in 2006, I gave up my mental fortitude at six weeks out and did not come in conditioned at all. I was working with a local 'guru' and I got to see his life from an inside point of view. He was living out of his car and conning people out of money to survive, which meant to body build. I was disgusted at this and finally everything came into focus. The unhealthy obsession of bodybuilding is not a way to live life.

I got minimal pussy during these years but a tremendous amount of brospect. Everyone knew me as the bodybuilder and that stuck with me for a long fucking time. After that show, I stopped lifting and pursued an education and career. Long story short, it took me years of progression and regression of my thought process to fully detach from the bodybuilding idea. I still worked out off and on but could not identify a perfect physique for my goals and lifestyle.

Anyways, establishing financial success, a well rounded lifestyle, and aging gracefully is most important. Bodybuilding does not fit in any of those area - I am talking about competitive bodybuilding. It's taken five years to get my physique down to 164 lbs ... I want to continue downward to 150's for functional ability and sex appeal. I get tons more women with this look. I still need to maintain some muscle to keep a shapely physique. I've been there done that with the bodybuilding thing and it's a waste of time and a 24/7 mind fuck.

Go ahead and break down what I wrote however you want to. I do not have gyno, but I can understand how one would think that given the picture. White men typically hold fat at the chest area.

Did you ever ask Schaffer whether he was luckier with the girls when he was heavily muscles or twinkified?

He doesn't need to defend anything he should look how he wants.

I totally agree you will get more women at a less threatening bodyweight/muscle level. Even at what he is now he is in such good condition compared to a normal person that would be intimidated. When you get bigger you pretty much rule a lot of women out, although a pretty face helps  :D

Ah-ha!

Example B:
Close friend of mine (and Leafy's) that played college football in Hawaii contacted me to get him in shape for a bodybuilding show. During his bodybuilding escapades - which lasted maybe one year - he developed the 24/7 mind fuck and lowered self esteem. He still got women based on his excellent game, but most women were not too into him because of his muscle size.

He weighs 154# now, still plays ball, and does yoga daily. He slams the most pussy I have ever seen in my life. He has told me on many occasions that bodybuilding was one of the dumbest things he had partaken in. The result was poor self esteem, physical awkwardness, and limited likability from women. That's not even considering the legality of substances, etc.

Leafy can we get comparison pictures posted on here? Black out the face and stuff. Getbig needs a wake up call for whoever is willing to listen.

For me and Donnie the experience has been quite opposite in terms of the physique. Then again he is coming from 220 at a much shorter height and i was coming from 160 at 5'11. I have still yet to find my way in this world. He was lucky to get through the bodybuilding bug at a young age. You should post your shots from when you were younger Donald.

I no longer have those pictures friend. I thought you would have them buried on a hard drive some where. The experiences for us have been interesting. As you know mine helped me get out of my shell. Due to the financial demand from bodybuilding i do not know how much longer i can continue on in this sport. I would love to continue on but only to a certain level. To think if i had put the money i did into bodybuilding into grad school i'd have most of it paid off now. I would have probably regretted it though if i hadn't competed. Now i will always have those memories and pictures along with the self esteem if gave me.

with all due respect to "Cougar food" but I think alot of us already know that most Natural competitors have shitty/no sex lives because they are more concerned with which natural Peanut is better or getting home in time to eat meal 7 than they are concerned with 18 year old half Black Co-eds

Bodybuilding

Cons:
-lifting weights 5 times a week (boring)
-always being sore some where not being able to do anything functional
-eating 6 times/day even when not hungry
-doing illegal drugs
-sides from drugs
-costs alot of money

Pros:
-brospect (is this even a pro?)

I have a wonderful sex life for a 23 year old male in a small college town. I do not hit big numbers, but I always have insurance pussy. When I went to Dallas for new years, I saw a different side of what it's like to be a young & fit guy. I got so many numbers that I had to pick and choose which ones I wanted to pursue. I think it's all about location and culture. Where we are, the fine girls with educations/careers are affiliated with sororities ... they don't mess with anyone out of their social network. I had to make my own way, by working full time and going to school full time.

Red trunks - 15 yrs old
Shit stained white underwear and awesome 'whip' in the back - 19 yrs old

I probably had 20 bucks to my name when that shit stained underwear pic was taken. I was working at a Pizza place that I was employed at since fifteen. But the only thing I had going for me was mental drive and beefy schmoe pecs ... Wow, life is so much better now

Good for you, Che.

So my question is, in what other area of your life was negatively affected ... You probably don't have the balls to publicly announce it for the fear of vulnerability. However, I have no real affiliation and/or reputation with this board, so I truly don't care to tell you mine.

Why the need to go so low as 150, why not stay around 180? no drugs, train 2-4 times a week and eat alright.

180 is still way too big. I was a lean 185 in the summer of 2009. I was benching close to 400 again and doing a lot of cardio. I was partying my ass off every weekend just to pass the time. It was a successful look for the ladies, but still stood out too much and looked unnatural.

Leafy, do you have those pics from the apt that we took when I was hung over?
