What good what it do? Should I bring a film crew? I don't have a training partner. There an artical in a 1981 edition of Muscle Digest that said I did a 400lb bench at 18. I have a video of me doing a 485 reverse band bench, I have another video of me doing floor presses w/ 110 x 14. Can't figure out why this is such a big deal. I guess you can come train with me some time, I dunno!

according to powerlifting watch website.

WR all-time, raw bench at 181 is 556lbs..set in 1986.

so yes, 535 is pretty hard to believe...ive reserved judgement until i checked those records.

are you suggesting that you probably were the best bencher in the world in that class at that time?

that IS a big deal..

gotta also point out to those who are saying 500 needs a shirt and loads of gear.

500lb bench was performed well before steroids came onto the scene..raw..

Coach probably benched 430 for a "touch and go" single at around 225 pound BW. He got a lift off, as we all do, his hips stayed on the bench, but he locked it out and returned it to the racks by himself. Nice solid BP- approaching double body weight. Over the years this lift became 535 @ 181.
