I Can't Function On A Bodybuilders Diet

My job is very labor intensive and everytime I try to diet like a bodybuilder going into a competiton I feel completely drained.  How do you regular joes do it?

I eat every 2 hours except between my 3rd and 4th meals which is about 5 hours. 

My diet looks something like this:

meal 1: 2 rice cakes w/ peanut butter and sugar free jelly
meal 2: handful of baby carrots
meal 3: salad with a couple teaspoons of dressing
meal 4: 4 whole hard boiled eggs sliced with a handful of croutons (before workout)

Holy no calories batman.

I don't do cardio so I'm hopin' low calories will get burned and then some with my daily routine and an intense 45-60 minute workout 5 days a week.

And eating every 2 hours will keep my metabolism going.

Should I just up the protein and keep the carbs at their current levels?

What is an easy protein source that I don't have to cook other than eggs.  I'm thinkin' lunchmeat.

Are you being serious?  Your diet has maybe 1200 kcal and 35g of protein.  What are you trying to accomplish?

Also lunchmeat is gross.

2) that is NOT a "bodybuilders diet"

3) Your metabolism will shut down (as opposed to revving up)

4) attempting cardio on top of weight training without energy is asking for failure

5) you will likely watch your bodyfat levels rise, not fall

6) you are probably not receiving any extra "help"

7) Start eating more calorie dense nutrients

I'm sayin' I don't do cardio is why I'm trying to keep calories to a minimum.  If I don't do cardio any excess calories will turn into fat.

I'm thinkin' maybe I'll increase my calories, but just protein and alittle fat.

build muscle and loose weight.

goal is 160 lbs at low bodyfat (8%?)

@ 205 lbs right now at about 20% bodyfat?

Basically yes. I want to lose about 40 pounds by maybe summer or fall.
