No offense to Coach or Vince, but what is wrong with doing a job for money????? hahahah!!! Does a garbage man become a garbage man just because he likes to work with garbage??? Does your landlord or financial institution allow you to live where you are living now because "they love helping people find homes" or do you think they are doing it for money?  Would you ever work for free? Probably not! Your clients pay you for your expertise! You chose a field you are good at and you pursue it! Maybe Steve will be good at it, maybe he won't. His ultimate success will come as a result of his talents!

And guys life is acting, sometimes I'm sure anyone who has trained anyone wants to tell his client "Get off your fat ass and start training and stop whining you fat bitch" (tren kicking in :D ) however you smile, give her some encouraging words and pat the fat on her back and lead her on the treadmill, diet, etc.

Even a garbageman has to learn how to do the job and definitely a personal trainer since you're working with people through exercises and diet.  What you do can affect a person's health so its very serious business.  Steve doesn't have the education or the willingness to learn to be a successful or effective trainer.

Funny how people are really blind when it comes to being a PT.

I've decided that you're not "intension"ally an idiot, but rather you're a living example of homo floresiensis and not as evolved as the rest of us.

P.S. Homo floresiensis is the tiny hominid discovered in Indonesia.

I am a scientist. I have a scientific interest in why you seem so dense and I think my latest theory is a pretty good one.

I was ready to debate my assertion that you are proof that homo floresiensis did not die out, but then you did not deny it.

Relax bro, it's not THAT SERIOUS! And how do you know Steve doesn't have the willingness to learn? I have yet to read the papers and hear "Death By Trainer" hahahah!

LOL at needing certifications for a job that's on par with bartending or waiting tables.

yes understanding kinesiology and creating a program design incorporating a multitude of variables to account for multiple age groups, genders, and athletes  is equivalent with "bartending or waiting tables" under your sub three digit iq logic.

All joking aside, Steve.  You seriously need to get trained and educated first if you intend on pursuing an education as a personal trainer.  Otherwise, no one is going to take you seriously and no one is going to hire you for your services.

This just isn't true. I was a personal trainer in a gym for years, made good money...I'm not saying I made tons and tons but I made a decent living. I've also done contest prep for years, I still do and a lot of the people I do prep for it's all done online. A rough estimate, I'd say I've prepped somewhere in the 200, plus or minus competitors in the last ten years or so...more girls than guys but there are more female  competitors than males.

Anyway, the point, the only certification I ever got was one you could get online...took about half an hour. The only reason I got it was so I could legally get insurance when I trained in a gym...other than that certifications are not only pointless, they're a waste of money. If people get results, other people will notice, it's that simple and if you have a half way decent personality clients will flock to you, especially the female clients...this is the true nature of the game.

I like the sex better when I'm natural. When I'm on I can walking around at home naked while making my postworkout drink with a shaker and having a full boner with a poker face...because of all the shaking. My wife always laugh her ass off. So it's just too much. My wife also likes me better when I'm off becasue the loads are 20 times bigger.

I got no problem with the guy coming here to promote himself; what else can a third-tier "pro" do? But if you're trying to charge people to hear some bullshit that doesn't really work unless you're doing huge amounts of drugs then you're gonna get called on it.

Only a few years ago Steve started a thread asking for a job as he wanted to come live in America - again, can't blame an ambitious eastern European for that. This isn't a knowledgeable dude tho, he is not a successful pro and has shown no aptitude towards personal training at all. This is about peddling more bullshit. Without the needle these guys look worse than the average Joe. Junkies trying to claim they do something special other than shoot themselves in the ass with expensive drugs.

Steve has no interest in training people, this is strictly for money. Fine, so what? you say. Well, he is not a successful bodybuilder, did not place that well in his shows, has NO interest in people or helping them (he took money off chicks just to walk them to their car), and he speaks bad English.

Damn, if you want to be trained by a muscleman or need drug advice there are a thousand guys to go to better than this.

Anyway, it's all third-hand knowledge and if you aren't doing the drugs, it doesn't fucking work anyway.

With your massive intellect, surely you realize that most who go into Personal Training do not do so with a long-term career in mind, but as a temporary source of income while they pursue something else; thus, the comparison to bartending and waiting tables. Do you think Namat thinks of himself, first, as a trainer or as a pro-bber?

Those certifications that Goodrum so proudly displays, are, by necessity, easy to obtain, as noted by Arnold Jr. There's only so much time and expense people will endure to get a $10 an hour gig at LA Fitness.

You seem to have a disconnect between what you believe a trainer should be, a highly-trained, professional, and what they are: glorified rep-counters/rent-a-friends.

That said, don't give up hope, perhaps one day Personal Training will get the respect it so richly deserves.

Then again:

Times have changed and there's a number of bills going through the Senate to regulate the industry due to the number of people getting injured.  Not only that, clients are looking for qualifications and they are check trainer's educational backgrounds.  If Steve's going to be competitive then he needs to simply put the time in and pay the dues.

My Diploma in Fitness and Exercise took about a year to complete and it far from being easy.  It was a lot of bookwork, research, and studying.  However, it was well worth it and necessary in order to compete with other trainers.

In addition what most people don't realize is that you can make a ton of money from personal training by branching off from it such as group training (boot camp), supplement sales, nutritional consulting, etc.  When you add that all up, its the reason why I work when I want to work and punch no time clocks.  But you can't get anywhere if you don't get the education.

STFU Vince certs  (in the US ) are a fucking joke ,it doesn't matter how retarded you are  as long you pay your fees you'll be certified ,but I agree with you ,Namat should get certified because that's the way things are  done  in the USA
