if he places out of the top 5 at the arnold then he could be looking at an 8th place finish at the O....

Kev used to come to the Arnold looking like shit (small) and Lee Priest would place ahead of him. Come Olympia time, he'd beast out and be a totally diff version.
There was talk that he was finished, in 97, 98, and the early 2000's.

Maybe Dex will do the same, who knows...

After all these years, i still cant figure out why "they" named him "the blade". Only thing thats ripped on him are his delts, arms and abs.

Seems a lotta guys when hitting a certain age can still hold their size, but aren't capable to really bring that shredded conditioning anymore.

Same happened with Toney Freeman, dude is pushing 45, still has probably the best structure on stage and no lagging bodyparts, but just can't get his conditioning right anymore, not looking exactly bad but always 4-5 % off. Same seems to start happening with Dexter now.

Dex has had a genetic advantage for many years, in time his body has stopped responding to the old ways.

Even the golds gym wizard can't help him at this stage, not that he looks bad, but compared to the Dex of old it's like night and day.

Can you read? Dex has always been one of the smallest guys, the only time this guy can score is when he comes in SUPER-SHREDDED, what he did for years. When his conditioning is off only by 3 %, what has been the case the last couple of shows, that guy has no business being in the Top 5.

Can you read, Dex's conditioning was better than Branch's at the 2009 O, and had a better back. Yes his conditioning has faltered, but not by that much...
The people who are beating him, like Branch who is about the same height, are larger, yet have ugly unsymmetrical physiques...they also judge or punish guys for not coming in like their previous best. There is a punishment/reward type of mentality in the judging.

And as you look at the physiques, they are getting worse and worse...no more crispness, but more plastic looking...the judges are rewardig these looks...

Dex, either needs to retire, or reassess the situation and come in his razor sharp self again, so them what the standard was/is. That was his calling card....and if others come in less than that, he picks them apart.

Dexter should move in with Kia Green and learn what its like to live in poverty. Maybe that will get some of his heart back and juices flowing. Dexter seems like are real lazy prick who thought the drugs would be enough

Last year, Cutler told me he saw Dex training in Venice and was training harder than he ever saw him. He said "..hard for dex". It's too late though, he's getting too old now. I think he's training and dieting harder than ever but his body isn't responding. What he got away with not doing in the past is now essentially haunting him. He's finally stepped on the gas, but the car has no power. Too many miles on that dude now.

Some of the guys here always try to rationalize someone's placing by inventing political motives, lol. Dex wasn't as big as he's been nor as conditioned, so he got exactly what he deserved IMO - 5th place.

I think it was close between him and Rockel. The 4 guys who beat him were bigger and better, plain and simple.

Placing 5th or higher can always be justified, he is done. If he could publicly apologize that could save his
career, but dont look for that to happen.

Victor is being given a second chance, he has had some bad luck in his life. He better make the most of it, check out his gut.

i can agree with most of this. dex thought his drawing power was equal to ronnie and jay. that was his big mistake during his 1 yr O run, he should have taken what they gave him including 5k for guest posing instead of bitching he should get 8k as mr o. that's ronnie and jay money.

Do I like Branch's physique? NO according to how contests are judged I think it's evident he was the clear winner
