The fact of the matter is they are another westernized country that needs our help just as we need their help. We are dependent on each other. Consider them a state within the United States but on a global scale and a different country. Yes, the world is in a shitty situation with all the debt and natural disasters going on but we have to do what we can.

Japan, south korea and israel basically only survived so far because of the USA.. they are advanced outposts inside the "enemy"' (russia, china, midle east, africa) territory...They are very important allies. These military bases are what kept peace on earth for the last decades...
