X-Men/Marvel Question
« on: March 21, 2011, 08:57:57 AM »
My question is, could Rogue drain The Hulk's power, and have it temporarily for herself? Like she can do with others, or is that "power beyond her capabilities" and would drive her crazy, due to the fact that it "Rage Power?

Yes, Rogue could absorb Hulk's power, but it depends on which Hulk you are talking about.  In recent years, Marvel writers have given Hulk unlimited power (could not be injured, able to hold is breath underwater forever, even existing in the vacuum of space--which was a far cry from the Hulk in the first few decades of his existence.  Traditionally, hulk was very large and strong, but he was still made of flesh and bone.

There are limits to Rogue's power.  She could not absorb the full power of any of the Asgardian gods, nor could she absorb the full power of Juggernaut (granted by Cyttorak) though she was able to absorb a portion of that power.  Similarly, her personality does not always remain in control when she absorbs/merges with someone.  Sometimes the other person gains control of her body and her personality goes dormant for the duration of the transfer.

Careful what you ask for. kiwi would give a concise answer. FP would carry some silly argument for ten+ pages.

Hahahhaha,
I was watching one of those X-men vids on YouTube where dudes were ad-libbing, and I thought it would be funny for sometone to have action figures...Rogue brings home Hulk as her new boyfriend, Gambit sees this and gets jealous, starts throwing cards. Hulk, starts laughing and says, "Hulk will keep it 100, Hulk will use all cards for strip poker tonight."

All of sudden He-Man is at the door (of The Xavier Institute), with his slightly sexually confused son (remember the He-Man cartoon from the early 2000s? Yep, that dude), well, seems that Storm has cooked up some sort of potion---cause you know, He-Man's is pissed, he broke off a dinner date to bring his son over.

Meanwhile, Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne are at the bar, they are talking about Lana Lang, "So, Clark, you and Lana didn't, you know, hook up?"
"Naaa, Bruce, she was one of those, take it slow types..."
"Yeah, Clark, I know the type, want to take it slow to not seem like a ho, but she's having her back blown out by the quarterback..."
"No, Bruce, she's not..."
"...Like that? Yeah, whatever, Imma keep it 100..."

And so, I thought about whether Rogue could absord Hulk's powers.

What if I was gay and she touched me?  Would she become a lesbian?  Would she get it on with Jean Grey?

I haven't read any comics, but based on the movies, Rogue can only absorb the mutation powers of other mutants.

The Hulk is not a mutant.

Just because The Hulk was not born a Mutant doesn't mean he's not a Mutant....

Most of Wolverine's powers are not from Birth (IE his Adamantium skeleton and claws) but she was still able to absorb his power!

Also, why did Rogue bitch so much about not having a boyfriend that could touch her, couldn't her bf have sex with her if he wore a condom since he wouldn't really be touching her?  I mean wtf!!!

Yep, that's a major flaw in an otherwise incredibly believable scenario.

Mutation is something you're born with and manifests itself when the mutant hits puberty.

The Hulk isn't a mutant - he had a unique accident as an adult, which caused him to change.

But anything goes in the Marvel universe, I suppose. Someone like Man of Steel or Fatpanda would know.

If you read Wolverine Origin, you'll see that he had the claws from a early age...

Also, Rogue had to wear gloves...so in order for her to have sex, she'd have to wear a full body condom...
