I agree with you guys that it's legit because it came out of the blue. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up six months down the road with a different doctor's diagnosis.

A major tribute to Edge took place after the SmackDown! taping in Albany, NY last night. I was there live and this was simply amazing to watch. Here is my report:

As SmackDown! ended, the entire WWE locker-room came out to the top of the stage as Edge stood in the ring. First, The Big Show came down the ramp and hugged Edge. He was then followed by Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Christian who was already in the ring. They all hugged him and shook hands. All of them were crying at this point. It should be noted that these were his best friends within WWE.

Triple H’s music then hit and he embraced in a long hug with Edge, at least two minutes without letting go. The other guys continued to hug as well, all crying. The rest of the SmackDown! roster stood on-stage clapping with some tearing up.

As the WWE locker-room headed to the back, Edge began to follow. The WWE locker-room stopped and signaled for him to get back in the ring and soak it up.

Edge then gave a long speech, thanking the crowd, WWE universe, truck drivers, ring crew, creative team, cameraman, announcers, catering. etc etc. He mentioned people by name (Brian (Gerwirtz), Vince, etc)

Edge said he is happy he got to say goodbye in Albany because it’s the place where he won his first championship. In fact it was in a cab in Albany where Edge came up with the nickname Edge.

Edge thanked Kane, saying he’d break kayfabe and would probably take some heat for that. He thanked Christian and Kane as his closest friends in the business and said he loved them to death.

Edge thanked Lita and said they’d had some great times together. He even joked to the fans that they needed to get their minds out of the gutter when it came to Lita “even though we really did do it.”

Edge said he was going home for a vacation and to spend time with his two dogs. The crowd laughed. He was very emotional during this promo.

There was a large “Hall of Fame” chant. He said he hoped to be in there one day and then said “I think I’m done… you’ve probably heard enough”. The crowd wanted more though.

Edge went and hugged his mother and then every single fan at ringside. Awesome way to end SmackDown! although none of this will air.

WWE cameras were filming this so it may end up on WWE.com. Take it from me as I was there live – this was very emotional.

He took the ball and ran with it. He killed Hardy in those promos. A really versatile talent. Had awesome wrestling matches with Angle, Owen, and Eddie and could have great hardcore and ladder matches too.

Ha ha ha ha! He certainly did and that fued was gold and actually helped Hardy's dragging career out. Too Bad Matt Hardy was too stupid to capitalize on it.

Matt was white hot and getting huge reactions....he went out and cut a sad sack and unispired promo wishing Edge would die, killing all enthusiasm for the feud. Edge went out and cut an intense promo saying he wants Hardy to live so he can kick his ass. Edge beats Hardy at Summerslam and flies into main event scene.

^^This may well be the reason Shane O'Mac is gone from the Fed.
With his level of involvement, I honestly believed that he was being groomed for the role of commander-in-chief.
And, I suspect that plan was abandoned when he saw the direction of the politics within the family/company.

I'd read reports around 2000 that claimed Stephanie was more involved in the production end of things than Shane.
I still think that, as the son, he was the heir apparent to the throne...but Stephanie fought hard for her "spot" in the company, which involved trying to outshine Shane.
Since HHH entered the picture - and with those two being equally competitive - maybe Shane didn't want the headaches of constant attempts to be out-leveraged.
This happens A LOT when family works together in a FAMILY-OWNED company.

They may be "billionaires," but they're still people, and certain problems are inescapable regardless of how much $$ you've got.

Nice pic if Stephanie, she looks delicious there.  :)

Shane is doing very well. He doesn't need WWE. He has a very high communications position elsewhere and his wife makes serious coin too. You know what they say about business and family...never mix them...its like having two hard dicks and no bitch.

Absolutely, he has signed a deal to become the new CEO of China Broadband Inc., a provider of cable broadband services, as well as other digital and analog related services, in the Shandong Province of the People's Republic of China. The company is based in Boulder, Colorado. He also sits on the Board of Directions for International Sports Management representing talent such as Ernie Els and Rory McIlroy.

Hmm...
It would appear that Show hasn't yet seen this thread.

Let us commence talking shit about him until he does.
 ;D

The loser finally gets his first job at 45 and disappears.  I guess he is too tired to post. ::)

I guess good for WWE for making him get more tests. Hopefully the days of putting a band aid on it and going out there are over.

LAME!!! Why bother with this formality of a battle royal, when it was obvious Christian was going to get the nod. The only issue is whether they're going to give Christian the belt at Extreme Rules, or will they let Del Rio win it and have Christian beat him at another PPV.

I give you all 3-1 odds that Christian wins.

Edge will help him win the title before finally retiring. Watch.

I think that's what will happen too. As much as want to see him win though, I think it's time they give De Rio the belt. It would give him incredible heat and really put him over the top.

haha, nice to see I'm missed......  Since I hail from "parts unknown" then there is really no way of knowing exactly where I live.....I've been busy fighting off tornadoes and sawing trees off my house the last few days.  All is ok, but a pretty scary weekend.  I lease Edge the "shack" on the lower 40 of my ranch.  ;D

glad to see Edge retire before he ended up with a more serious injury.  always seemed to have a good head on his shoulders.

Lol...Edge and Christian tried to come into Gold's at Rockwood Mall back in 2003. They thought that because they were wrestlers that they didn't have to pay an entrance fee. Lol....talk about them being cheap. They left because they felt they didn't have to pay 10 bucks each to train. Wow....

And, they probably spent $12 on gas searching for another gym...that also made them pay $10 ea.
I just lost a bit of respect for them.

Wasn't a big Edge fan to begin with.

Almost all the wrestlers trained at a placed called Monster Gym (now Fitness 365) because it's right by the airport and it's 24/7/365
open on all holidays, etc. used to be toronto's biggest juice/stripper gym back in the day.

I'd imagine you saw some "interesting" sites there.
