How many weeks after the starting the diet you introduce refeeding?

right away ,, that 2- 3 weeks wait is a disaster for size

looking at stavios ,, he could cruise th way he look n get ready in 7 weeks , will do hitt n deadlift cardio tho then , he does slow treadmill after workout , not violent enough

keto keep short n intense ,, too long you give up ,,

th low fat high protein is a failure to me , mid fat intake at least , those veggies days are terrible for size

By refeeds you mean a whole day eating what you want?

Please show me how adipose tissue can be fed without insulin, I would love to see this.

So there is no insulin produced if carbs are not eaten? Do you know what gluconeogenesis is? Do you know how hard it is to get into ketosis eating plenty of protein, especially extremely high amounts like Benoit does? I remember even Duchaine saying to only eat 20-30 grams the first couple of days, because you simply wont go ketogenic otherwise.

For arguments sake, let's assume none of the fat you eat is stored when you don't eat carbs. What happens to the fat you don't burn off as energy? Do you just shit it out or what?

Like I said before, if insulin was only produced when carbs are eaten then all a diabetic would need to do is go keto = disease in remission, no insulin needed.

If cyclical keto is something you'd want to try I'd recommend reading McDonald's UD2.0. Even Duchaine remarked that McDonald had surpassed his knowledge in this area (I think Duchaine's book was named Body Opus). I haven't read McDonald's Ketogenic book but I'm sure it's great also.

Yep - even fat, to a small degree, rises insulin.

keto works fucking great, especially when you are on high protein.

Problem is, it turns me into a zombie in no time. Always sleepy, no energy, i forget things, want to sleep all day. And the carb cravings nearly kill me.

Keto diet, AND low carb diets are not good for me due to one overarching problem: they kill my energy in the gym. I also believe this is the case for most people.

On a high carb diet I am able to bust my ass in the gym and do cardio while still being in caloric deficit. I have done this for about 5 months straight, going from 20% to < 10% BF, while consistently increasing all my lifts. In contrast, on low-carb diets, i lose a lot of muscle and my lifts go down severely.

I think itīs easy to be fooled by keto and low carb diets, because you get so dry, itīs easy to think that the diet is more effective than it really is. I will never try keto or low carb diets again.

So where are the scientific studies showing that keto has advantages over any other high protein diet?

LOL, do you need a scientific study for everything??

Any scientific studies on why a blowjob is better than a handjob??  ::) ::) ::)

Keto works, because of lower insulin level and restricted calories. Some people can get better along with eating no carbs, some people with eating less fat. Don't make it rocket science, fuck your studies.

Mmm valid point. I forgot about gluconeogenesis and you do have a point.

That I believe is the reason keto diets are high fat moderate protein ultra low carb.

However I doubt the body can store any fat with the miniscule amount of insulin produced and I still do not think you can gain fat on a high calorie keto diet.

Say you ingest 4k calories while in ketosis, can you gain fat? I wonder...Would love for Chris Aceto to weigh in (I know you read this board Chris!)

methyl ive tried it before and yes you can gain fat.

you can get away with a little more than you would be able to on a standard diet tho

btw, protein bumps up insulin quite a bit, especially animal protein.

If you tried it, would you consider it better for lean mass gain?
and overall can you sum pros/cons?

LOL, you argue scientifically and then say "fuck your studies". Makes perfect sense.
I just asked for studies, that's all. The ones I know of (which take water loss into account) show no advantage.

ive went the keto route twice in preps, and you do get used to the lack of carbs... hard to begin with but you do get used to it in the end, ephidrene helps alot in the beginning too..

deadlifts for cardio sounds brutal tho!

really its an individual thing. most guys are going to do best on a balanced, cyclical diet. fat and protein needs remain pretty much constant whether bulking or gaining..  so carbohydrate reduction for fat loss makes the most sense.. but you dont need or want to cut them out completely.. yu want to make sure your metabolism nevers decreases and you want to make sure you are growing and reovering from your workouts..  some guys may be very sensitive to carbs, or maybe they just resond really really well to fats, and in those exceptions they may decide to keep carbs very low year round.. but thats not the rule, and that person could still eat carbs and get good results as long as they were in contolled amounts.

When your blood sugar rises insulin is produced, when it gets too low glucagon is produced.

I understand human physiology rather well and stand behind my assertion.

Please show me how adipose tissue can be fed without insulin, I would love to see this.

So the question is, let's say your maintainance is 3000 calories  and for a month, the only thing you eat is meat, fish and eggs but at 4000 calories a day.

You won't put on fat?

no you wont, not at 4,000 and not with only those foods.

but if it was all almonds, or all peanut butter, now that would be very different.

you cant get fat on protein, though it can slow down/inhibit fat loss.

You do realise this defies the laws of thermodynamics.

How much would you need? 5 or 6 thousand calories of meat and fish?

I recently just found an interesting thread about this subject
it's about one guy that tried both ( keto and carb cycle) and shares his experience
