Yes you can if youre not a total horn dog like a lot of men.

I would regularly go out with girls from work but never treated them as more than friends even though 2 were attractive. Try not to date women at work...

I currently have 2 women who are close friends. One I am not attracted to but she likes me and knows how I feel so she doesnt push it and one who is cute but if something happened our friendship would suffer I am sure. We have a good time together but I know Im not her type. Shes not totaly mine either.

Overall the answer is yes if you are not attracted to them and know how they feel about you if youre in the friend zone.

Some you cant because you may strongly want to have more than a friendship. In that case its better not to.

Good Luck...

bottom line, you found them attractive...and you have thought of the possibilities. Being put in the friend zone is like being put in the phantom zone...you can't get out, even if you want to...

Found out the fiance went to hang out with single dude from work after work. Only friends my ass. Put a stop to that asap. Shit ain't happening again while she's with me or she gets the door.

see I don't like sneaky shit but if she told you up front then I don't think there is anything to worry about. Would of it been a problem if she said "after work I'm having a drink with a pal (insert his name) from work?"

It is pretty naive to think that a single straight man asking a woman out for drinks is looking for a friend.

Told me after the fact. They didn't go out for drinks though. Seriously pissed me off, still.

Yeah, guy is a total sleazebag and the fiance knows it. She thinks when she says 'no' once, they'll get the hint and remain friends from then on in. She likes the attention as do all women imo.

Exactly, any dude, if given half a chance, if there is the slightest bit of opportunity, given said scenario, was trying to crack at it...

Which is why, even though there might be 1/90000th chance of me and Kerry Washington ever hitting it, if given the the slightest chance---i will try at it...

well my sister is quite naive in this. she dont understand why a guy cant be just a friend, mostly saying this when a guy doesnt show up much anymore simply because shes totally not sexually interested in them and doesnt give them the kind of attention they want. lol

Yes I agree, some women are like that. Yes, it was wrong not to tell you upfront. IMO, that's hiding something

horn dog like a lot of men.

A conversation with her husband from a female author (Shaunti Feldman) in a chapter from her book "For Women Only" where she is covers sensual images and men.

Jeff:  "But you know men are visual, right?"
Shaunti:   "Well, yes, of course.  But since most women aren't, I just didn't get it.  I just don't experience things the same way you do."
Jeff:  "See, I'm not sure I really believe that."
Shaunti:   "Well, it's true!"
Jeff:  "Maybe we just use different language to describe it.  For example, think of a movie star that you find physically attractive - Tom Cruise, say.  After we've seen one of his movies, how many times will that attractive image rise up in your mine the next day?"
Shaunti:   "Never."
Jeff:  "I must not be explaining myself correctly.  I mean, how many times will a thought of what he looked like with his shirt off just sort of pop up in your head?"
Shaunti:   "Never."
Jeff:  "Never - as in never?"
Shaunti:   "Zero times.  It just doesn't happen."
Jeff:  "Wow."

If Platonic relationships are the kinds of relationships Plato had, then having a Platonic relationship with a woman might have gotten you arrested in several states until fairly recently.  Could still get you a court martial in the armed forces.
