lol, I was tempted to say a bunch of rude things, but I demurred because there are some members of the armed forces who are worth respecting... and then there's the ex coelis types who come on here and act like they're the reincarnation of Genghis Khan or Richard Lionheart while probably doing the most banal shit imaginable.

haha I am just a humble paratrooper with real combat experience

high powered assault rifles and explosives are used by professional soldiers and law enforcement as tools of the trade

the rest live in a fantasy

I generally agree, but if someone want's to put an assault rifle in their "glovebox," i guess that's their choice.

What's your "real combat experience"?

What fantasy? firearm ownership? if I wanted to enlist I would but I decided I don't want to be a pawn for some politician.

Afghanistan - dismounted fire-fights, LAV III engagement, IED close call (main charge failed to detonate)

good times

Nope to protect their families ( among other reasons )  and I wouldn't want any other thing it's a great weapon for it's intended use , again what fantasy is anyone attempting to live?

the fantasy of being some slick special forces hot shot, some hard-as-fuck cold blooded killer, a bad-ass, etc . . .

if owning tricked out weapons makes you happy, ND, then do it up - I really don't care

but understand that it's transparent and hilarious

You're a fool, do u even know why our fore fathers put that amendment in the constitution??

It was a fail safe so that the government couldnt turn into a toltarian oppressive regime

Sad u would give your life for our country but don't know basic history about the most important document made in our country's existence.

Since you;re such a bright boy I'm sure you do realize that the constitution was written at a time when an armed militia was a viable deterrent but decided to ignore that aspect of the issue.  In order to have the equivalent deterrent today, private citizens would have to have their own B-2s parked in their barns.  Hope this helps.   :)

that logic can be applied to you as well , if you weren't on S.E.A.L. team 6 and you were just a regular old paratrooper than you're just a pretender too

and nonsense you don't care , you cared enough to comment on it , you think you're the only one entitled to own such weapons because you were in the Army , you some how earned the right while the rest of us haven't that's hilarious

again what's stopping the average Joe from taking the ASVAB and going off to basic ? I have three AR15's and don't own any camo what so ever , you're under this delusion people want to be like you and you're misinformed .

Basic small arms are still a deterrent , see Vietnam , Iraq and Afghanistan all without the benefits of  B52's managed to more than hold their own

Sometimes I sit on my front porch and shoot squirrels that get in my pear trees and I'm like "Take that Haji!"  My mall ninja fantasy is awesome cause I imagine that the coyotes that try to get in my garbage cans are tangos and I'm like "Tango down!" when I shoot one. It's so badass.

Ex Colitis has a point....if you skim through a Guns + Ammo magazine the poseur factor is off the charts...but not everyone is like that and he is painting in very broad strokes.

I have two guns and you will never see me jump in the gun threads, they are for protection and i hope i never have to use them
