they key here is to stimulate, not annihilate. that means always staying at least 2 reps shy of failur eon any given set. you still lift heavy. and the workouts will be very long. 2-3 hours or more if you have the time. as many as 10-15 sets sets per body part or more.  you wont overtrain so long as you have the day off and you stay 2 reps shy of failure.

 Training a muscle about every 5 days seems to work best.

 Any more than that and you aren't fully recovering. If you are blasting the muscles hard of course. If you just train like a bitch, you can hit each body part every 2 days.

I think delts and arms can be hit twice a week, but legs and back do much better with once a week IMO
