I think it's safe to say that Trey's problem was bulking up too much and putting himself in the difficult position of dieting down a great deal in a short period of time. Is there really any benefit to this sort of bulking? It should be noted that TA's philosophy of keeping a low body fat year-round is practiced by Jay Cutler himself. I would personally like to get leaner, although that would put me at literally 140 pounds. But needless to say, I think TA is right that it is both unhealthy [and unaesthetic] to have a high body fat percentage.

I think Trey probably has the exact opposite problem with his appetite that I do; while I can barely eat, he probably has a hard time not eating everything in sight. I think it's pretty clear that Trey would have to change his off-season eating habits if he expects to place better. Either bulk up less or go on a longer contest diet. He's obviously massive but his condition really prevents it from showing. I don't think he ever reclaimed his former best look from the 2006 NPC Excalibur:

High bodyfat literally does nothing good for you. 10%, 12% MAX year round unless dieting. I personally hate going over 8-9%....Under any circumstances...

Although I know this is true, I don't have enough mass to be lean. I should just take TA's advice and reduce because it is healthier. I am sure my strength would drop though. As for Trey, I by no means mean to judge him as a bodybuilder as he is obviously at a high level, but I just wanted to say that it looks to me his bulking is overboard and not really helping him. I could be wrong but I just think he is putting his body through unnecessary stress.

Lean out and the excess support systems will allow you to gain muscle ultra fast. Fat is living tissue after all...

i can not agree. he has good genetics..he's just doing all the wrong things. mainly eating to much of the wrong thing. he looked great at the excalibur. just look at the pics above. he just can't get there again. i think he is taking the wrong advise from the wrong people.

This poor bastard was done before he even got started.

Good potential judging by his Excalibur win,then the old "I want it all right now" syndrome (which is so common today in lots of endeavors), struck like lightning and he ruined his body.
