scientists proved people who have faith -whatever their god- are happier and live longer, they produce more neurotransmitters of hapiness in the brain. They also build stronger families and care more about others on a daily basis, and are more loved. They are baffled by this fact considering that at the same time sciences seem to prove and not prove at the same time a god doesnt exist. But go ahead, if you re smarter than everyone on earth and knows the ultimate truth. I m just careful. I cant say wether religion or science is right, and i d say both are.

The 'laws of attraction' is a science. Everything you have, everything you do comes from the subconscious. If you have good thoughts and faith, those things will come to you, which a good religion will promote.

Which is strange because in the New Testament, Jesus does not say a single thing against homosexuals.
For whatever reasons Christians incorporated several books of the Torah into the Bible and the ancient Mosaic laws were followed and incorporated.
And the books to be used were chosen under a committee by the Roman Emperor Constantine. Those that they didn't like were ordered destroyed and they chose the version of the texts they preferred as there were countless in every single Church, all hand written and copied.
Many many were left out.

Modern Europeans now view the world from a 'morality' based on the Abrahamic and Mosaic laws similar to the way the Islamists do.
The only difference is that the New Testament mellowed these ideas and brought about the concepts of forgiveness, and not judging others etc, though why it was incorporated with the ancient and contradictory books of the the Torrah is strange as Jesus was a rebel and against the priests and their system.

I think if we look at the New Testament alone, the message is good.
At least Jesus tried to convey some sort of positve message to humanity.

The problem is that today, his words are lumped into the same category as myths and archaic laws from hundreds of years and thousands of years before.

The New Testament was written in Greek and many of it's concepts are inspired by Greek ideas such as that of the Logos, or what Christians now call the Trinity, 'three beings in one' that are one and the same.
However, the word 'Logos' is used, the same as used by Aristotle when he came up with the concept,  and the words 'Hades' is also used for hell, the same as the pagans would use.

The people who wrote the books currently making up the Bible lived in a different era to their ancient ancestors, they now lived in a more 'global' Hellenized world under the Roman Empire and their writing shows a different outlook.

The problem then started with organised religion, with competing Churches all with their owen agenda's and local backers, then finally controlled by an entire Empire who were more worried about theological debates and keeping power instead of sending more troops to exterminate the Barbarians flooding through their borders while they awaited the second-coming.

Acts on Earth became irrelavant, everything was now for the afterlife.

The government's role is to maintain law and order, protection of citizens lives and property and promote a healthy economy.
And not to decide on "Morals" for them, ie: what is right and rong from a moral perspective or a religious perspective.

They're supposed to have as little influence as possible on people's daily lives and let them do whatever and say whatever they want as long as they're not hurting or stealing from anyone or directly inciting such behaviour.
