Okay, so I was playing a competitive game of football/soccer the other day for the first time in about 10 years and boy did I suck. Not in terms of technical ability (I scored twice), but in terms of pure physical fitness.
I currently weigh 225 at 5'10 and all my physical activity for the last fifteen years or so has been spent in the gym lifting nothing but heavy weights - I've never really done that much cardio and even if I had, I'm not sure how much benefit would it have had. So anyway, I was completely gassed out after about five minutes and kept having to take breathers on the side line for several minutes at a time before rejoining the game - by the end of the game I was limping, my knees, hips, and thighs all killing me and couldn't even walk properly to my car afterwards, and I've been practically incapacitated until now.
I was pretty disgusted with myself and also at bodybuilding which prides itself on giving that illusion of super health but in reality the complete opposite is true (even without drugs) - the "activity" is a damn farce (yes, I already knew this to a great extent anyway so don't bother pointing that out).
So I was wondering - how many of you studs consider yourselves physically fit and able to perform continuous tasks that require agility, flexibility, and just general all-round fitness? What sort of things can you do? For example how far could you run without stopping?
