Absolutely right man, my parents told me when I was kid 'the world will always need ditch diggers and general labor'
LOL, pretty much the same thing I heard.
When I failed Algebra in 9th grade, my dad took me to the naval shipyard to show me what manual labor really was.
He went back to school after WWII and Korean war to get certifed in basic civil engineering and worked on the hull integirity and welding of nuclear subs.
He showed me his work lifestyle and what the basic labor grunts did. He was quick to point out he had done the same work they did when eh was a shipright. He said it was honest, hard work and you got a pay check.
BUT, he smiled and told me that it was lot better pay and work life to have that education .
He chuckled and said get good at math or get ready to bust your ass.
