Does this story have a so called but barely understandable french speaking mechanic in it?

It's a manifold gasket, and it depends on which manifold.  Exhaust, intake, etc?

All manifolds use a gasket - so you need the gasket correct not the whole manifold ? - gaskets are usely quite cheap from parts shops.

What they are more than likely referring to is either an exhaust manifold gasket or an intake manifold gasket. If it is an exhaust manifold gasket you will normally hear a ticking sound when the engine is running. An intake manifold gasket cmany times leaks antifreeze. Both are fairly expensive to repair by a repair shop, parts are cheap labor gets you. Check this site out, it should be able to give you a ballpark price:

I am asking because I still have a guarantee for my car for another 30 000 kilometers, but I don't think the guarantee covers that part unfortunatly.

I looked at a photo of the engine in a 05 Malibu. To replace either gasket the block most likely has to come out. I'd put repair from someone else over $500.

oh fuck. maybe not so cheap then. lol i used to replace them constantly on my jeep. easy to get at, and a cheap part to replace. if you gotta pull the block you're fucked.

The wire furthest to the right in the middle of the block is the 02 sensor i imagine that connects to the top of the exhaust manifold. You see the heat shield so I imagine the top is easy to touch. The problem is the lack of wrench clearance as long as it's in the car. Between the manifold and the car i'd bet there is almost none. Meaning the block is pulled to get to smooth sailing. I could be wrong but i dont think i am. lol

damn I'll check  my contract again then, because it should be covered if it's near the block.

the sound isn't very loud so it's not that bad it's just annoying, and my car is already at GM this morning cause one of  my front wheel was fucked up because of all those 1000000 holes in every fucking streets

You sure it's the exhaust manifold gasket?
Those motors are known for the intake manifold gaskets leaking.
Either way your warranty should cover it.

nothing leaks, it's just that the car has started to make an annoying sound when I accelerate/start the car.

I know nothing about cars but someone told me that it probably was the problem

It should be covered under warranty. If they try and dick with you call GM. I had a GM that blew out 3 intake gaskets and ended up getting a lifetime warranty on the car. I hope for you that it will be covered because it will be costly. Not only is an exhaust gasket leak annoying but it affects gas mileage and will end up causing sensor problems. Good luck.

it shouldnt be that bad if you did it yourself but I have no idea if you payed someone obviously your area dictates how much but its not a super major repair.

Should probably let the stealership diagnose it as the gasket first since right now you are just guessing. A noise can be a million different things.

Don't assume by what someone told you, take the car to someone who can diagnose it properly.
You will save yourself a lot of money and headaches.

the expense will be mostly labor. at $100+ per hour it adds up quick.  there are certain glue type mixtures that can be applied and block the leak quite effectively.
