on a malibu 2005thanks
It's a manifold gasket, and it depends on which manifold. Exhaust, intake, etc?
What they are more than likely referring to is either an exhaust manifold gasket or an intake manifold gasket. If it is an exhaust manifold gasket you will normally hear a ticking sound when the engine is running. An intake manifold gasket cmany times leaks antifreeze. Both are fairly expensive to repair by a repair shop, parts are cheap labor gets you. Check this site out, it should be able to give you a ballpark price:http://repairpal.com/
exhaust !
I looked at a photo of the engine in a 05 Malibu. To replace either gasket the block most likely has to come out. I'd put repair from someone else over $500.
In simple terms, Stav., they're tryin' to tell you to up your dose.
You sure it's the exhaust manifold gasket? Those motors are known for the intake manifold gaskets leaking.Either way your warranty should cover it.
nothing leaks, it's just that the car has started to make an annoying sound when I accelerate/start the car.I know nothing about cars but someone told me that it probably was the problem
it shouldnt be that bad if you did it yourself but I have no idea if you payed someone obviously your area dictates how much but its not a super major repair.
what the fuck is a gasket manifold and is it expensive to change ? on a malibu 2005thanks
