total recall is arnold's most underrated and unknown movie, i'm surprised they would remake this despite all the remakes these days

Is Total Recall even that dated that it needs a remake?

Maybe they are planning to play up the three-tits angle. You know, merchandize and stuff.
as long as the costs are inferior to the profits and enough people keep going to watch them, they ll keep making them. It's all about maths , marketing and planification.

they should come up with something fresh but hollywood cashes in all past successes these days.
This is the man up for the role of Matrix in the commando remake!

You just have to love the ultra violence Verhoeven gives us in Total Recall. The movie doesn't hold back. Good storyline too and a deep movie.

That's true. I've always wondered how those retarded looking spoof movies made any money. Then i went to the movies when the preview for one of them came on, and about a quarter of the dumb ass people were laughing. Just enough to make some profit.

Anyways, yes it could be good if they don't play on the Arnold movie at all and start fresh off the original short story.

yeah it could be interesting if they focus on the disturbing and morbid psychological angle of losing touch with reality.

But most likely it'll have katy perry on the soundtrack and Jim henson's creature shop will provide the martian mutants. Although three-tits on miss piggy would be interesting.

Precisely. I hope they go more towards Blade Runner/Minority Report-style.

But just the fact that they're keeping the movie title from the 90's version Total Recall and the fact that Colin is working out suggests that it goes along the lines of the usual Transformers hollywood bla bla cheap thrill flick... I have no recollection that the character has to be buff from the short story. He's supposed to be the everyday guy.

This jackass is already going to be in another remake.

Next month, Fright Night hits theaters. Farrell is playing the vampire role made popular by actor Chris Sarandon in the horror classic featuring Planet of the Apes star Roddy McDowell.

And now, he thinks he can play the Schwarzenegger? ???

This douche has quite the career going. ::)

shit, Fright night still remains  one of the  Top 3 horror flick in my book. I remember how terrified I was after seeing this flick when I was 9yrs old. yes, it's one of the best horror flick of all times.

to some people it's a deep habit to go the movies. It's as natural as shiting, eating pizzas and drinking coca cola. They always tell you every single movie they ve seen was great, only say its crap if the general opinion is that the movie is indead crap. Basically they re sheep, the ultimate followers. Being led, conditionned 24/7 365 days a year with 0 hability to think by themselves. Most of the the time they also watch A LOT since childhood and have been conditionned to do so by their own parents and grandparents who constantly watch TV. As you said it, they laugh but they dont even know why. Because they are suposed to, so they do. They re like robots, answering automatical stimulies.

I go there 1 out of 10 times because the movie seems good.  rest of the time is because the popcorn is fucking delicious.

yes he was supposed to be average, Patrick Swayze and Christopher Reeve were some original choices for Quaid.
Arnold himself suggested they change the character to a physically strong construction worker who then becomes vunerable through his mind being tampered with.
Maybe they will go the other way with Farrell, physically weak but mentally strong..

Yes, I can't understand that either. The new Predator and Terminator sucked, the new conan will probably be horrible and this total recall remake too.
