they also (the prisoners) are allowed 3 weeks "vacation" outside the prison every year so they can be "adjusted" to life outside the pen... if all this is true all i can say is wow.. why not be a criminal..?

Compare their recidivism and crime rates in general to the united states and say that again.We cage criminals and treat them like animals, as if they are less than human, and then release them back out onto the street. Where has that gotten us? At least Norway has the sense to treat them like human beings and attempt to rehabilitate them so when they are eventually released they no longer present the danger to society that they once did and can easily integrate back in with the normal population.
