what do you think about the machine?i think they isolate the pecs very well....or you build your chest with free weight only then you switch to hammer strength??

fucked up my arm a while back, so been exclusive HS recently. Very forgiving on tired joints, excellent contraction of pecs.

thumbs up!

PS, no "ego" weights on the HS either. Nobody give a shit if you can HS 405 so it allows for more better form than traditional BP

IMO...machines are great when you have an injury or an area that is prone to injury for you.  Otherwise, your body has a natural range of motion and angle of motion that a machine can't duplicate...because...ev eryone is different.  Free weights allow your body to take it's natural motion contours and hopefully make a better development and possibly less chance of injury due to unnatural stresses.

Since adopting more partial-rep work into my training, I’ve come to appreciate certain machines a bit more.

For me, some machine presses are well-suited for short movements, often using a false grip.
I find that relaxing the flexor muscles in the hand adds a small boost to my pressing power, and the Hammer machine negates the threat of the bar rolling out of my hands.

good machines, i like the feeling....

when u train alone there´s also no great risk to get injured, even when u go real heavy....

but "in real life" dumbells and Barbells produce more lasting results.....

example: when i train with the HS incline press for a while i get a bit stronger in this exercise, but my strength on free weights pressing
decline a bit the same time.
When i get stronger on dumbells and barbell presses my HS-strength also go up.
HS-Equipment is good when training alone, or with an minor injury, cause u can use most machines unilateral.

OK.......SO LAST EVENING I WORKED CHEST......HAMMER DECLINE 4 SETS.....8-10 REPS....FOLLOWED BY INCLINE FLYES.....THE INCLINE BENCH WAS SET AT ROUGHLY 20 DEGREES.....4 SETS 8-10 REPS.

THIS MORNING.....CHEST IS SORE AS HELL.....HAMMER DECLINE ACTUALLY HITS THE UPPER CHEST....IMHO......AND SLIGHT INCLINE FLYES HIT THE CHEST WITH MINIMAL SHOULDER INVOLVEMENT.

NEXT TIME I WORK PECS.....I WILL USE THE SAME EXERCISES BUT WILL END WITH PUSH UPS WITH MY FEET ELEVATED ON A BENCH TO HIT THE UPPER CHEST EVEN MORE.

I actually have started using rest pause for my training.....although someone here has said that it is not true rest pause....anyhow....I really enjoy using it in my training.

Incline hammer 270x9 reps.....rest pause 10 secs.....2 reps......10 seconds.....1 rep.....and so on....

very good workout.....I am in and out and no wasted time.

hammer chest machines are very good at targeting the pecs.....imho
