you obviously have nothing of any substance to say thats why you're throwing weak insults out in a desperate attempt to save face. i have to get back to work now.  ok buh bye now.

And your response is to name common facts and then accuse everyone else but you to fail to understand them.
We get it its not rocket science.
And we get that you get it.

"The biochemists discover the receptors and create drugs to target these resulting in drugs, the pharmaceutical companies provide the capital to do so and then mark up the drug substantially. They have nothing to do with production of the product, nor are they involved in the research. I could give 100s of other examples but the point is that when stupid people like bachmann, palin, etc get involved they fuck things up. Rubio not knowing the age of the earth yet being on a committee that oversee's science amongst other things is retarded. It's a fact that is required knowledge before leaving highschool."

and Necrosis this is by far your most ignorant statement.  you do understand that there are many PHD lab rats who go on to become board members and/or upper management of these corporations that they work for right?  my cousin's husband actually took this exact path.  i don't think he turned evil once he got his appointment to the board.

Taxes dollars subsidize a a lot research.  A good deal of research is conducted at public universities using tax money but Americans never reap the financial benefits of their investment.

good point.  thats true.  i should have addressed this.  however some of the biggest contributors to these universities science programs are the big corporations like Abbott Labs.  and the big 4 accounting firms are the largest contributors to the business schools.  they are investing in future employees.

i always go on my rants when someone tries to make the assertion that corporations and/or a profit motive is inherently bad.  it's a ridiculous assertion.  profit motive is what drives research.  profit motive is what draws the best and brightest.  people just don't want to believe this because it doesn't make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  i wish that we could get our medicine produced at a cheaper price and lower the markups more than anyone.  it's just not as easy as "corporations are evil so let the government take control and everything will work itself out".  i wish it was that easy.  but i'm under no illusion that the government won't be as corrupt or more corrupt and inefficient than anyone else.  and i don't get why a lot of liberals believe this.  it all goes back to this dumbing down of voters to make them believe this good guy bad guy shit. thats what sells air time on the major networks.

Are factories the only way to make dumb workers productive? are they evil?
« Reply #262 on: November 22, 2012, 02:19:53 PM »
I ask getbig: opinoins?

iImagine for a second all the unemployed 30million wokring in slow pace clean well lit factory making housing parts or velcro warm clothing or whatever instead of on welfare or simply not doing anything.

Imagine how much more plentiful and cheaper eveyrthing be.

Then exptrapolate to firing 50mil overpaid burocrat in government and moving them to same.

+80,000,000 productiv workers, and getting rid of drain of 80,000,000 people sitting around!

huge surplus of goodness right?

Gore is a another crook that people should show their naked butt to in disrespect. I don't know ohw this guy was made into a celebrity.

He is filthy rich from being a crook /end thread.

What were those two scandals where it was revealed TWICE not once, different leaked communications, memos, emails, etc... showcasing they were fabricating data, lying, decieving people, even people losing jobs (and of course credibility in the scientific community via pressure) when exposing the truth on the matter.

Right. Only 97 percent of climate scientist agree that climate change is real and man-made.

I'm sure you guys have done your own independent research which can refute it all.

This might be the reason here:Over a recent six-month period, Fox News misled prime-time viewers about climate science in 93 percent of the cases UCS examined -- 37 of 40 instances. Meanwhile, in 39 of 48 instances in the Wall Street Journal opinion section, when climate science was addressed over a yearlong period, it was misrepresented or mocked, according to the report.

97? not even close.   More than half of scientists quotes in gor's movie sued him for mis representing thier views.

UK and USA scientists have noted the avg temperature of the globe has fallen every year since 2008.

RUSH: The true story of Thanksgiving is how socialism failed. With all the great expectations and high hopes, it failed. And self-esteem reliance, rugged individualism, free enterprise, whatever you call it, resulted in prosperity that they never dreamed of.
