http://www.wnd.com/2012/11/defense-department-cant-put-soldiers-ballots-together/

This article is such a crock! My son and son-in-law are career military. They have voted in every election during the course of their careers, which for my son-in-law is 15 years and for my son is 25 years (note: he retired three years ago and now works overseas for the U.S. government and still gets his ballots). Both my son and son-in-law have been stationed in various places throughout the world during their careers. They usually get their ballots long before my wife and I do, as does my daughter.

Man what are you babbling about?

You being welded to some time period in history instead of living in the present. I wasn't the person who posted an ancient article about home construction in the 1950's, but you did. I didn't post the suggestion people go to work in manufacturing when manufacturing has largely been either moved out of country and/or many of the positions are now preformed by robots. A total of 3.2 million – one in six U.S. manufacturing jobs – have disappeared between 2000 and 2007.

Foreign born Latino workers landed two out of every three new construction jobs in 2006 benefiting from strong employment growth in the industry even as the housing market endured a year-long slump. The construction industry employed 2.9 million Hispanic workers in 2006.  Hispanics accounted for 25% of the total employment of 11.8 million in the construction sector.

• The median weekly earnings of Hispanic workers increased 2%, from
$420 to $428, between 2005 and 2006. This rate of increase was higher
than for other groups. However, Hispanics still have the lowest median
wage of any racial or ethnic group.

• The median weekly earnings of foreign-born Hispanic workers fell 3.1%
in 2006, from $400 to $388.

Hmm, wonder why Latinos are finding jobs in construction while some other folks who previously held construction jobs remain unemployed today? Could it be the wages which appear to be less then $10 an hour in the construction trades for Latinos.

Check out the occupations with the highest job growth and notice the wages. These are almost exclusively service industry positions and many are low paid. Where oh where are all those jobs in manufacturing someone was talking about?

MI Right to-Work Battle: Union Members Shout Down Tea Party Counter-Protest

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/12/11/Union-Thugs-Shout-Down-Tea-Party-Counter-Protest-In-Lansing-Michigan

Just a few minutes into the demonstration against Michigan’s right to work legislation, Union loyalists show their disdain for free speech by instructing and shouting down members of the Tea Party on the steps of the Michigan State Capitol building. The incident occurred around 7:15 AM and was captured exclusively by Breitbart news.

BIAS ALERT: ABC Uses Hate Group to Show Gay Marriage Dissent
« Reply #862 on: December 11, 2012, 01:47:50 PM »
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/12/11/abc-uses-video-hateful-westboro-baptist-church-to-illustrate-opposition-to-gay/

Apparently, ABC News can't tell the difference between opponents of gay marriage and hateful, anti-American bigots. As "World News" reporter Terry Moran highlighted the Supreme Court's decision Friday to consider the legality of same-sex marriage, video of Westboro Baptist Church picketers appeared on screen to visually represent "opponents."

Members of the small and extreme Westboro Baptist Church have disrupted the funerals of American military personal who were killed defending this country. According to Westboro Pastor Fred Phelps, U.S. soldiers are dying because of America's support for homosexuality. On June 13, 2005, the AP quoted him as saying, "Our attitude toward what's happening with the war is the Lord is punishing this evil nation for abandoning all moral imperatives that are worth a dime."

Treasury Dept. Wraps Up TARP Bailout of AIG by Selling Assets to China
« Reply #863 on: December 11, 2012, 01:48:35 PM »
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/12/11/Treasury-Dept-Wraps-Up-TARP-Bailout-Of-AIG-By-Selling-Assets-To-China

The Treasury Department announced on Monday that it would unload its remaining shares of American International Group (AIG), the infamous insurance giant that received $182 billion in bailout money from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).

As part of the divestment plan, AIG will also sell its aircraft leasing business (ILFC) to a Chinese consortium.

The deal will give China “access to a global network of about 200 airlines in 80 countries.”

According to Reuters, taxpayers that bailed out and now own AIG will lose out in the deal because the $4.8 billion sale is “at a far cheaper price than AIG sought and will lead to a substantial loss.”

Coinciding with the votes were massive and noisy protests both inside and outside the Capitol from pro-union demonstrators. Thousands descended upon downtown Lansing to rally against the legislation that prohibits requiring nonunion employees to financially support unions at their workplace.

Earlier in the day, two state school districts closed after hundreds of teachers called out, presumably to join the protests.

It depends on what is being "bailed out". If the money goes to repair damaged Government infrastructure or property that the Government is charged with maintaining on behalf of the public, then that's fine. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I just don't know the specifics and don't consider breitbart a credible enough source to use in forming an opinion on the propriety of this "bailout."

But it was fun "reading" your nonsensical, incoherent and grammatically flawed ramblings. Can you color the text red and green next time? You know, in keeping with the Christmas spirit!

This is why the Government should have let GM go through a conventional bankruptcy, instead of a bailout using taxpayer money.   This is not the free market at work.  Companies will not learn to manage themselves better if they have the reassurance that the Government will be there to bail them out.  GM should have been forced to sell off more assets if need be, in order to subsidize themselves.  How many airlines have gone bankrupt, but are still around?  Everyone was so afraid if the Government did not intervene, but we'll be worse for it in the end.  We should have let GM and Chryser fail and restructure.  Why support a non viable business destined to lose money in perpetuity?

I have worked both union and non-union positions. There was much less strife for all employees in union positions. People seemed to get on better and there was less complaining on all sides.

There are sources to support whatever opinion one chooses to have. I am not much on conspiracy theories. Having worked in government related position I have some idea of all the checks and balances there are which work to prevent data manipulation. However, I will concede that human error exists regardless of whether the data gathering is done privately or publicly. This is probably more than you would concede. You have repeatedly shown yourself to be very single minded in your posts. I don't expect you to look at these things objectively. Unfortunately, you have a lot of company.
