I agree with that two. People who payed into it should defintelety get it. The list I threw up is from a popular gun/survival forum.
Same with medicare... if I paid $350k over my lifetime into social security, that's a shitload of $ I don't have handy for medical bills. To quickly decide "hey, i'm just going to do without medical" doesn't work.
The rest of that... sheeit, if you're getting welfare, you need to be picking up trash from the road 8 hours a day while peeing in a cup. If you want a handout, you damn well better work for it.
But people DID work for their social security - it's THEIR OWN DAMN MONEY.
And the people with signs saying "Govt, keep your hands off my medicare" are just funny.
Some social programs are a good thing - they keep the old from dying in the gutter and a new bubonic plague from sweeping thru the country. Hell, I sure don't want the crazy ass vietnam vet on my street losing his monthly meds from the VA, do you?
Society collapses when you cut all social programs. Some people actually welcome a collapse. Sure, obama is an ass for sending 5 billion to pakistan, etc. But cutting retirement benefits that our parents paid into their entire life - not the solution.
