Ok so my vacation is over. I did my cut and achieved pretty much what I wanted from my summer. Now it's time to try to gain a bit more size, preferably mostly lean muscle and minimal fat gain.
What is the consensus on getbig; should you eat to a decent caloric surplus with supposedly 'healthy', 'varied', 'clean' and nutrient dense food OR can I eat ice cream and pizza etc everyday as long as I get adequate protein base and adequate nutritional needs?
(Caloric surplus is the same in numbers in both cases.)
Give me a clear cut answer ![Wink ;)](http://www.getbig.com/boards/Smileys/classic/wink.gif)
I've tried both ways and it's common sense - eating good, clean, healthy food wins out every time.
You'll look and feel better, your sleep will be good, and you'll recover better from workouts without feeling lethargic during them or bloated between them. Nothing wrong with having a few cheat meals thrown in for good measure to give your mind a mental release and somethign to look forward to, but make it the exception and not the rule.
My permabulking days eating McDonalds, KFC, and fatty and refined sugar-laden foods are a thing of the past.
