i dont agree that the south had the right to secede in this instance but lets just say they did, and lets say that the war was the norths fault, and that the north had no right to go to war with the south. we can even call it the "war of northern aggression"that doesnt change the fact that the souths secession was based on their fears of losing slavery. adonis keeps quoting north carolina, because its a state which seceeded for other reasons, but it seceeded after the war had already begun and it is only one of many states. the vast majority of the states who seceeded explicitly listed their fears of losing slavery as their main reason for secession, and that fact alone is all that is needed to prove the point that the confederacy is to be shamed and not celebrated. after all, that is what this entire debate has been about... me telling TA, chaos, and others that the confederate flag is shameful and disgusting. which it is.
