Well scientists that believe in the big bang, agree that they have no clue what caused the big bang.

I am far from religious, and simply looking at the two popular options:

Option 1: World is billions or trillions of years old, was started by a big bang, that resulted overtime in a perfect cycle of planets and stars for earth to be possible and gradually resulted in the creation of life all the way till it turned into a human.

Option 2: A god that was always here that has no creator, created all this. (believing in 1 god is easier than 2 gods).

To me the god story is way better, its easier for me to believe that there is a god than to believe everything just happened on its own.

The former is a scientific hypothesis, in which the conclusion is drawn from empirical evidence. The latter is, in your own words, a story. It's a nice tidy story, but there is zero corroborating evidence.

Uncaused existence has shown to occur naturally. If it's 'First Cause', or a 'Prime Mover' you're looking for.

The hypothesis of the origins of the Universe will undoubtedly be revised as we learn more about the nature of reality, but at this moment in time it's the best explanation we have to explain reality without resorting to absurd stories to explain that which we don't yet understand completely.

Science has proven there was a mitochondria eve in southwest africa. About 40k years ago there was a women who genes everyone alive today has inherited. It is strongly believed that this womens gene's corresponded to a revolution in cognition that allowed for us to become truly creative. The proof is in the cave art explosion that occurred around the exact same time.

Now that is quickly becoming fact in the scientific community. Fast track to religion and you can see a lot of tie ins to the bible.

God(creator) created us in his image(he gave us creativity).
He created genetic eve by giving her genetics for a serious neurological upgrade.
God removed us from the garden of eden and gave us sin ( he essentially gave us intelligence that put us above all other animals).

Anyhow I'm not trying to say the bible is a scientific document, but people really gotta stop using them as methods to attack each other. The bible is based on faith/history, science is based on what we know right now. There is some obvious flaws with both systems, religion never changes, and science can lead into some very scary concepts as in scientific racism/eugenics(the real theory that caused the holocaust)
