What's inside those eggs?

Yes, this burger (well, the unshopped version  ;)), made with solid beef (not that 'clay meat' at McD) and a brown sandwich. It tastes damn good and I like that place.

Cool!

4 Eggs were soft-boiled, yolks mixed with:

~2 T toasted mustard seeds and pine nuts
2 sun dried tomato halves
couple pinches of salt, pepper, and aleppo pepper (very mild)
quarter stalk of celery
bit of dried herbs (should have left these out)
~ 1 tsp olive oil / peanut oil

all ground together

then topped with chopped mint and tarragon, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with cayenne

this was my first time making deviled eggs, so i just threw together a bunch of stuff i had on hand -- turned out great though!

I made a picture of that place, shared it with my coach and made the promise that it was my last cheat meal :-X ;D

Damn, you're a creative guy in the kitchen, and I'm sure that women value that quality.
I thought it was pesto sauce for a moment, but I'm not sure if that tastes good with eggs. I've never heard of tarragon, but the mix of ingredients sounds good.

thanks man... actually, i was as boring and bland as the next "bodybuilder" when i first started cooking.  then i just blindly followed recipe after recipe (in other words, cooked as un-creatively as possible) until one day i realized i actually had some idea of how the stuff i had been doing for years actually worked.  then i realized i could make food that was practically no different, nutritionally speaking, but world's different in taste, satisfaction etc. from the chicken and rice i started out from.

yesterday: steak and (homemade) pasta in pan sauce, with some tomatoes, goat cheese, and other random stuff.

today: chicken curry

What did you think of the sous-vide chicken?  Do you have a dedicated machine for that, or did you use a homemade setup?

Great stuff, as always.

Great stuff, as always.

It was really good... however, it takes some thought to find a place for sous vide.  i can get pretty much the same quality by roasting split breasts in the oven for 30-40 minutes, whereas sous vide takes about an hour or so.  there are a lot of other factors to consider, though... prep, storage, etc.  and sous vide can be implemented in a lot of different ways.

in this case i used a temperature regulator (http://amzn.to/1vnmXhi) to control a hot plate.  dropped the breast in a small 2 qt sauce pan.

i don't have a circulator yet, but i'm looking to get one.  this might make it more practical and significantly easier than using the oven for making large batches.  another complication with sous vide, though, is that you need to "finish" each piece of meat separately.  while the oven can give the skin/surface a nice enough while cooking it, sous vide wont.  on the other hand, while finishing a breast takes more time, the end result is better.

still trying to figure it out, but i think it's only a matter of time before i start regularly using the technique.

tonight i made a pumpkin pie and apple tart for thanksgiving, plus a salad for myself.
