Princess did a nice comparison of flax vs. fish oil a while back, detailing benefits, conversion processes, etc.
I'm sure she has the link somewhere; I had it bookmarked on my old computer.

I can't recall the details, but fish oil came out ahead.

alvacados on your tuna sandwhich is about the closest thing to healthy fat I get. Anyways Mezo have you tried almond butter? Try it and you will never touch peanut butter again. The shit is like crack to me. Also notice my complexion is looking better  since eating AB, almonds are notorious for this so guess it works 8)

LOL

COCONUT OIL IS ONE, EVENING PRIMROSE/BORAGE OIL IS ONE, REAL GOOD SALMON OR REAL GOOD BEEF HAS GREAT FAT IN IT. SAME WITH GOOD EGGS AND REAL MILK TOO. BUT THOSE ARE NOT ISOLATED FAT SOURCES. CASHEWS, ALMONDS, MOST NUTS REALLY TOO.

extra virgin olive oil is the most proven oil for health. if a person is trying to maximize their diet to the fullest i dont see any other logical choice.

Lots of good things to be said regarding EVOO:

The fats you want most are DHA and EPA. Flaxseed doesn't have either. DHA and EPA are only found in sufficient quantities in wild caught salmon and grassfed beef. CLA is also healthy and can also be found in grassfed beef.

We've had some good discussions regarding the pros & cons of various fat sources.

Maybe we could create a sticky analogous to the Ephedrine thread, which contains links to some of the better threads on the subject.
We could leave it opened, too, to post additional resources/articles and to fascilitate further discussion.

I think that the so-called essential fatty acids are conditionally essential and not truly essential. It has been postulated that the body can synthesize both arachidonic and decosoexapentaenoic acids from oleic and palmitoleic acids, which are found in small amounts in most vegetables, vertebrate fat and even fruits. I actually think that supplementing with these polyunsaturated fats might be harmful as they significantly increase oxidative stress.

Agreed, there are other good choices out there, but it's hard to beat EVOO.
