Why do people lie about their arm size?

I was just scrolling through past threads and came across the one with Van Damme and his arm size. This comes up all the time. People making such and such claim. I really, really don't understand why people would lie about their arm size or any of their stats (height, weight, bodyfat %). I mean, you can claim any measurement you want, any weight you want, any body fat %, but it's still not going to change what's in front of your eyes.

I can make any claims that I want on how big my arms are. They are not going to change what people actually see. The last time I measured my arms they were a bit under 15.5 inches. I'm a bit heavier now so I just measured them and they now stretch the tape at just over 15.5 inches. Van Damme is suppose to be 17 inches. I will never see 17 inches in my life time.

I know what you are saying.  I have 16.5 inch arms and people have said that they look big.  Then you hear people all the time saying mine are 17,18, 19 pumped and shit.  There is no fucking way that many people in the population have those measurements.  Same with the Question "Whats your bench"?  Everybody adds 50lbs or more to the real answer.  I don't get it either Pellius.

Put it this way, a 17inch lean arm looks very big on an ecto. What you are getting is big boned permabulkers talking about arm size, its night and day. And most people lie about things constantly. I know from my own measurements, waist, arms et cetera, that most on these boards just make up numbers as they go along. Size is the refuge of guys with no muscle quality, TbombZ is a good example imao, look how much better Bobs looks now he has cut down, or Leafy who people would call a twink at 185lb or so. Pellius your arms look great, quality muscle and shape, measurements are not important, its the visual.

People speak such shit.  I had an ex who tried to tell me his arms were a certain size and so I got out a tape measure and measured them.  They were 4 inches less than what he boasted.  I think he lied about his penis size also.     Once a liar, always a liar.
