Yes, to complement ND's posts - and we are pretty much the only two guys in this board who truly understand bodybuilding judging on a deep level - this is what matters when it comes to deciding who wins bodybuilding contests:
- The development of the muscles.
- The proportionality between them.
- The proportionality of the skeletal frame
- The quality of the muscles - conditioning, or how much detail(vascularity, separations and striations) the muscles are showing,
These four criterias are acessed in the seven mandatories of the muscularity round and the three angles of the symmetry round
at once.
The only exception to this is the posing round, when all the criteria is accessed but also an artistic element that depends on the talent of the bodybuilder.
Who wins depends on these four criterias acessed all at once in the two rounds. Aesthetics, or the shape of the muscles, are simply not a part of the criteria
