I don't think Chris was underrated. He sure had all the talent in the world but he failed to fill the expectations. Only once he was able to bring his a-game at the Olympia(1999). Most of the time he would wind up getting places 6-8th(six times at the Olympia!) and guys like Flex, Shawn, Kevin and Nasser beat him easily.

I laughed when they talked about mental toughness. That would be one of last phrases I would use to describe Chris Cormier.

He was huge, but he looked good at the same time and held his mass well which is rare. He didnt have the freaky chemical factory look to him either and had kind of an olschool type build with the massive chest and cut midsection. People seem to love the freak veins and weird proportions these days so they forgot about how big he was because he wasn't a schmoes wet dream. Excellent bodybuilder and had a unique streamlined physique.

Is it possible that Chris was nervous for the interview?  Jeff introduced me to Chris on Saturday at the end of the expo and he seemed fine.  It's kind of odd to hear him stumbling like this because he spoke well when I saw him.  He was down in size but nothing crazy.  Pretty much what I would expect from a retired pro who still trains and follows bodybuilding.
