SWEDE!

This may help ..... (I did not write it though. I just copied and pasted it!

It could be stress, which thoughts are keeping you mentally alert at all times. Or it could be an external thing: bedroom/sleeping environment, physical activity during the day, what you consume through the day, if you develop a routine in the evening. All these things could contribute to the quality of sleep you're getting. So, your sleeping environment: it should be cool, but not uncomfortably so. Comfortable with PJs and covers on. It should be calming colors like blue, brown, cream, marroon, soft orange. Also, try some kind of "white noise" like clear radio static or put a little fan in your room. Next, try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, and not more than 2 hours before bed. Your body may still be running on adrenaline 2 hours after your exercise. Then, what about what you're eating? No eating after dinner, if you can help it. And, if you can develop a bedtime routine, it will help put you into a mental flow of "now it's time for bed". Also, if on big test days, or big event days, it's okay to take a OTC sleep aid, but try not to take it everyday. If you feel like stress is the cause, exercise, journal, watch a funny tv show before bed, talk to a loved one on the phone before bed. But, if instincts tell you that you have something else going on, listen.

8-8.5hrs. Less, and I build up sleep debt. More, and my lower back takes longer to uncoil.

Sleep 6 hours a night, stick with it for 10 days, and all will be the same...

Tried it all. I stick with what works. Early to bed, early to rise. I should have been a milkman.  :-\

Speaking of SLEEP .... How bout DREAMS?

I have dreams in which I could swear I was actually there.

Most of them are about losing my rifle while getting overrun but others are about being in our summer home while it fell into the river .... an actual ocurrance a while back.

I also had three occasions where the dreams I 'dreampt' became reality ... one was the death of a relative who passed away the day after I drempt it.

The other was someone or something falling from a high-rise balcony to the street below.

My cousin and her three kids happened to live on the 23rd floor of a high rise apartment building so I called her on the phone and told her to lock the sliding door to that balcony.

She did lock it but she unknowingly also locked Boots (the family cat) out on that balcony and the next morning Boots was splattered all over the parking lot.

That cat only had one live to give to his country but he did it pretty spectacularly if anyone had the opportunity to see that fall.

The other dream is too damn long for this Board but someday I'll condense it.

Lucid dreaming. Take advantage of them but stay Calm or you will wake up. You can littartly make Anything happen.  People have even gotten over depression because of learning how to lucid dream and talk to recently passed on family members etc.

In modern psychology the explanation of dreams is kind of abandonned. It seems to be just brain waste being processed. Dreams predicting the future do not exist. You just remember the ones that seem to do it....it's coincidence.

What if dreams is the true dimension and "reality" is actually a dream my son?

My dreams are better than my real life. Very cartoon-like, and gravity-defying. They're awesome.

Bunch of times.

But only Once in a Lucid dream. Apparently its hard to do it without waking up but I managed it once. Threw myself forward and managed to stop an inch or two over the ground and just floated and after a little while I learned how to actually fly!

"LUCID DREAM" ... I gotta research that.

How about .... the most hours anyone has remained awake?

I can't think of any time that I have remained away for over 36 hours and that was fooking miserable in the desert at Twenty Nine Palms watching the clouds turn into people and places I had known many years earlier.

I have three recurring dreams and sometimes they're lucid dreams:

1) Dream I'm being pursued.  I never get caught, but sometimes I get confronted and I always escape.
2) Dream I'm flying.  I always start flying high, but towards the end I can't get more than a few feet off the ground.
3) Dream of a worldwide disaster involving water and having to flee the planet.

It's happening to me at least 3-4 times a week now, for the last 2-3 years. It's either that or I just levitate around a foot or so above the ground and glide, while everyone else is walking (and staring at me, while I glide past, lol). I've also had the same dream a few times, where I'm gliding down a gentle, but long slope that looks like the Great wall of China (never been there). Amazing feeling when you recall it and "remember" the sensation of flight.

Those are about the most common recurring dreams.

I knew there was a reason she had such a big smile during breakfast this morning.

Not always, but more times than not. Flying is damn near impossible to control most times, but the gliding is always cool.
