I grew up in a very immigrant populated area that had and still has a lot crime, most of which I was fortunate to never witness. Break-ins, murder, rape... the whole thing. My experience from that place was usually that people that did not intervene got away unscathed and those who tried to fight back with knives or whatever usually ended getting their asses kicked or killed, or even in some cases killing the perpetrator. Usually the people that did not intervene could carry on with their lives but the ones who did either got effed up or sent to jail.

A female friend of my brother was recently robbed. From what I was told, dude reached in her car, and pulled her out and beat and robbed her. She didn't know the person, it was near Baltimore, MD. There was a bus stop nearby with people there, and none try to help or intervene. Since it was morning time, people were going to work, and she tried getting the attention of cars that were on the road---no help. People would not stop to help. That was somebodies, sister, girlfriend, or daughter. When we as people start to not want to help due whatever reasons, that's when the crimes get bolder, as the perps thnk that they can get away with it. And it's odd how the same people who won't help, are the ones screaming why aren't the police comic fast enough, when they need help.

Thats what I would do. I don't want to go to jail for murder. Depending what state you're in you can't always just kill someone if they come in your home. They must have a weapon or you must feel threatend. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger if needed.
