A gang of maniacs break into your house with bats and you have a wife and two small children upstairs , they changed the dynamic of the situation and I would put them down , no questions about it.

If the angry mob was outside I would have my AR15 on ready , police would be notified and I would be prepared. If the angry mob decides to escalate the situation by breaking in with bats in hands they would get destroyed period end of sentence.

I'm not saying I would quote statistics either in a similar spot. Discussing on the internet what might be safest in this and that scenario(which I'm trying to do) probably won't affect my actions that much if I were to find myself facing a threat like that. If someone is standing in the living room with a baseball bat about to cause havoc, I'd make sure to spray him good. If it doesn't do the trick and he's about to attack, shoot.

BTW huge factor alot of people aren't taking into account with these make believe what if scenerios.....dogs. You are less likely to be broken into if you have dogs, no intruder wants to deal with the barking or possible biting of dogs, so they will move on to a house that doesn't have dogs.
