I've found that consistency is the key to progress in weightlifting. Consistency. As long as you perform exercises with adequate weight to stimulate the muscle, with good form, eat enough calories for your goals, and recover properly you will make gains. At least this is my experience. Fancy exercises, seated this standing that, intricate programs, it's all garbage. Consistency will pay off in the end. Unfortunately, most people are too impatient and fail. They give up when they perceive their gains have halted. Big mistake. After twenty years lifting it's obvious to me that the human body is reluctant to adapt to change beyond a point. The changes do come albeit slower. The slower part is where most get frustrated and give up. A lot of people ask me for advice in my gym, and the thing I emphasize the most to them is to stay consistent.
