Do they hit the inner head of the biceps?

Ruhl was a big advocate of them...especially the partial movement (like the first movement in doing 21s). Depending on your hand placement they can burn the inner or outer head.

One wonders why a natural monster like you always posts beginner questions about training.

Rhul arms sucked IMO
Just asked because I can't see how doing the top segment of the movement would hit the inner head anymore than the full curl ???

It's really just more of a concentration movement.  Wroking the inner head just depends on grib.  Not a bad arm exercise to mix in time and again.  There are 1000 ways you can curl so might as well mix it up...

literally every mesmorph thread could be answered, "it doesn't matter."

that said, why would you do seated barbell curls?  what purpose could they possible serve?

Do they hit the inner head of the biceps?

It's a great exercise, I used to do them a lot. But here's a question for everyone, and think about this and I'm not trying to be a dick.

Do you REALLY think there is such thing as an exercise..for the biceps as an example that ONLY hit's one muscle be it the inner or outer? There might be a particular exercise that may isolate the entire bicep but you CANNOT isolate an inner or outer part of that bicep. Same with preachers...there is NO "lower" bicep.

Coach is very much correct here.  Also remember, 95% of exercises that directly stimulate the Bi's are simply a variation to the theme of curling.

no matter what u do your going to work the whole bicep.  Grabing the bar with a wide grip will target the inner part more.  Using a close grip will target the outer more.  Its not rocket science

I've found that consistency is the key to progress in weightlifting. Consistency. As long as you perform exercises with adequate weight to stimulate the muscle, with good form, eat enough calories for your goals, and recover properly you will make gains. At least this is my experience. Fancy exercises, seated this standing that, intricate programs, it's all garbage. Consistency will pay off in the end. Unfortunately, most people are too impatient and fail. They give up when they perceive their gains have halted. Big mistake. After twenty years lifting it's obvious to me that the human body is reluctant to adapt to change beyond a point. The changes do come albeit slower. The slower part is where most get frustrated and give up. A lot of people ask me for advice in my gym, and the thing I emphasize the most to them is to stay consistent.

Are you high or retarded?  Ruhl had some of the biggest biceps ever.

Yes,  if done with a wide grip.

you are right but if you twist the db during the curl bringing it in you can feel the inner bicep more. of course you can't really isolate it BUT if you feel a certain part of muscle from a twist or contraction during the lift wouldn't it grow. i feel like the mind muscle connection theory is very real. it takes years of training but it does happen. for example when i started lifting i couldn't feel my rear delts at all. i cut the weight down, raised it, low reps, high reps didn;t matter but after years of training i can do bent lat with no weight and get a pump from the contraction

What the hell are seated barbell curls...I can't imagine they can be done except when you got dwarf arms....
