Oh where do we begin with this one? She wasted 165 grand then after she didn`t find a job in less than a year she gave up and decided to become homeless. Just like that. Why did she spend MORE time in School and LESS time trying to seek employment? Doesn`t make any sense. So she gives up. Finally she gets a food service job and melts down and then CONTINUES TO WASTE MORE MONEY Feeding the beast at a UNIVERSITY. How many times do these people need to be hit on the head? Seriously? Finally a friend gets her a job but that is not enough. She then does the only thing left, INTERNET PORN! She then goes on to say, "I didn`t ask for this". Really? You didn`t ask to take out these loans and go to school and on and on and on? Really?

2004 - graduated highschool top 10%
2008 - graduated top private college GPA 3.4
   BA Biochemistry, supposed to get a job
   $25,000 in student loans and my parents
   spent $140,000 on tuition
2009 - applied to over 90 jobs in my field
   1 interview, not hired. gave up.
   homeless on streets for over a year
2010 - got a food service job. cried a lot.
   spent $6,000 to take biochem classes
   at local uni. 14 hr days. volunteered too.
   started doing internet porn to make ends meet.
2011 - miraculously got a biochem job (thank you friend)
   I’m excelling at my new job.
   Spent $15,000 total relocating here for it.
Today - I work 40 hrs/wk and make $1500/month
   Rent $650/mo
   Utilities $100/mo
   Credit debt (from move) $1500 left
   Student loan debt $2750 left
   Car keeps breaking! $4000/this summer
   Vet bills
   Doctor bills
I scored in the 99th percentile on the GRE - that means I did better than 99% of test takers
I do porn to pay off my student loans
I didn’t ask for THIS
I work hard my whole life
(I gave up my dream of being a veterinarian because I can’t afford $200,000 in debt I would graduate with, I wanted to be a shelter vet so there’s no way I’d ever be debt free. I wanted to help homeless animals but I hope I can make a good cure in the lab. I want to work on HIV or Herpes vaccines)

Read the first, and last page, not going through all of the pages to hear the same whining from these people. But, these people are fucking stupid. They made poor life decisions and now are paying for it. I went to college, not a super high priced school, but a decent University. I had a part time job, paid for school, applied for some grants to help, and a few student loans to pick up the slack. You know what I did when I graduated? I found a job. I have a psych/history degree, and I took a sales job for an equipment company, nothing close to my field of study. I didn't sit around crying about not finding work. You know what else I did? I put together a budget to pay off my student loans($14K) and did that within the first year. You don't want to be broke, don't spend money. I then parlayed that experience into starting my own business, which is successful, and affords me my lifestyle. These pussies should stop just giving up on life, and get back to the grindstone like the rest of us. They obviously have computers and internet, becasue they are posting these pics. I will give it up to the porn girl, at least she is doing something to rectify her situation.

I have always managed my debt by the percentage of disposable income I have monthly. I have no credit card debt, no student loans, a car paid for, a modest mortgage, utility bills, car insurance, food, gas, etc. My current disposable income is 66% per month. Buy now, pay later is the most ridiculous concept ever invented. Why would you go into debt with thousands of dollars the way the economy has been since 2008? Your better off working for pennies than accumulating thousands in debt over the last three years. And the future doesn't look any better.

Good economic thinking. Wall Street almost bankrupted the country by going far beyond their means, then got bailed out by public monies, and is now back to making obscene private profits. How's that fair?

if there's no jobs - start a business. look for oportunities. Someone has to clean & guard all these repo'd houses. someone has to be the one to step up and offer a consolidated service that can give 5 businesses a barebones version of the employee they had to let go. hell, create a solution to a new problem that the recession brought. read police reports on break-ins at busineses... visit these businesses and take 30 a night to stop in/hang out at their place of business 5 or 6 times each evening. Do this for 5 or 6 businesses and you're banking almost 200 per night to drive around. While hanging at each place, work on your laptop, coming up with more ways to source abundance. you show up, take a pic of their business clean and safe and unbothered, and text their designated email account 5x a night. what business owner who was just robbed wouldn't take that for 30 a night?

there are all off the top of my head. I look around and see businesses stripped down, with a lot of needs not being met. Be that guy who shows up and solves those needs.

Occurs to me that if tertiary education were free (tax payer funded), and secondary schools were made worth attending, you'd soon have a population much more likely to make good decisions and a brighter future for the country. So in b4 why should I pay for you to go to class.

Sad @ "Shouldn'ta studied somethin' useless then, moran" & those who see higher education as a trade school. "Be marketable." Name one great historical figure whose primary goal was being marketable. If you're someone's commodity then you're doing it wrong.

The difference here is that recipients of the Bailouts were required to pay it back with interest so the Government could make money on these loans. Many have paid back the Bailouts and all are required to do so.

I don`t understand why they are to be punished for making a profit and what is the definition of obscene?

With that said, we do need to kick Health Insurance companies to the curb as they are nothing but a middle man between the patient and Doctor and are the sole dictators of points of service. We need a National Health System that covers everybody as it saves 400 Billion dollars a year (most fiscally conservative health care plan) and make private insurance an option, not a necessity. This is not only the most fiscally responsible approach it is also the most moral and best for keeping the engine of economy humming along. Sick people are economic liabilities and its is just wrong that a person should suffer when there is a clear option that could help not only themselves, but the economy writ large.

I also think an investigation into College and Universities are in order on the Financial side of things. There is no reason whatsoever that a State University funded by taxpayers should require Football teams and the amusement park carnival atmosphere that pervades the University Industrial Complex. Leave that to Private Universities, not State.

END the Government subsidizing of College and Universities via Loans for Private and State Schools. End Private Lenders for State Universities. Allow Private Loans for Private Universities.

These are just a few common sense approach ideas that should be considered and enacted.

He then takes the Government Unemployment and sits at home all day because he said they "promised" him a job and would re hire him. That is batshit crazy! And now somehow they are the liars and are to blame.

You can`t make this shit up.

“my 27 year old brother was laid off from his job in construction, and was promised that they would let him come back. They lied. he sat at home all day, every day, because he was sure they would let him come back. he went on unemployment for the time being (about a year), and then got a call saying that he wasnt going to be let back in to the company. now he works at my county’s fairgrounds getting paid $12.00 an hour, and he lives with my parents and myself because he can’t afford to live on his own and my parents cant afford to live without him.

I am so close to a college degree, but it won’t be enough to get a job when I’m done. I have to take loans for a Masters Program, and hope for the best when that’s done. Meanwhile, the government is protecting the rich and lazy. Shame.

I work for a communications company. Was laid off after 4 years. THANKFUL to get a job with the same company. I have 2 kids 1 income. Husband disabled but not “Enough” to get assistance.
30k in debt for student loans for a degree I will never use. Living paycheck to paycheck.
Without my income there is no house, no food, no anything.
Afraid my son and daughter will have to suffer the same fate.
We are the 99%
And we are not alone.

This one is a mess. First she or he (I can`t really tell so I will refer to it as "it" from here on out) says it had a meltdown because the Boss made it have one. So the meltdown "made" it go complete 2 BA degrees. Then it was told they weren`t looking for someone like it.

It gets 217 dollars a month for Food Stamps from the Government. IT IS OBESE!

It also has children and thinks just because It has 2 Degrees and the Director of where she works has only 1, It thinks it deserves equal or More than the Director.

This sense of entitlement needs to stop.

after quiting a job 3 years ago where my boss used her masters degree to make me feel like crap I COMPLETED 2 BAs, dying to help my community I applied at all the non profits listed in my city, ALL pretty much told me I wasn’t “what they were looking for” I got lucky having a PT job these 3 years with a boss like a big sister to me( herself severely underpaid) but i had no health insurance and was overdrafting every month because between my husband’s $864 and my $217 a month foodstamps only gave me $39 so I had to put food on the table. I was recently hired to do the same type of work I do PT (retail) not because of my degrees but because I didn’t need to trained, I pushed for the max. amt paid on that job $12 they refused to give it to me. BUT I feel fortunate and count my blessings that I have a chance to go the doctor and I can feed my 5 year old without going hungry myself. The director my company earns $80,000 and has ONE BA degree and no retail experience
