Great job guys on trying to persuade a guy from drinking, just goto parties with loads of drunk people solid advice ::)

Seriously though you could also try volunteering/the church circuit, it's a great way to meet chicks, that generally hate guys that drink, and are desperate to me a guy sober.

It's easier if you're a non drinker to live in or nearby a big city. More to do.

I cut wayyyy down from the college days of drinking but I still like to have 3-7 drinks on occasion.

Going to a nice place to eat, cigars, movies, comedy shows, in Chicago there's metro mix ...a website where you can find crap to do. There's a whole different world out there outside of drinking. Took me a while to figure that out because up until 22-23 all I did was drink my cock off every weekend.

I've never been a drinker and have never been drunk in my life....  back in undergrad I used to go out a lot... at one point we were out clubbing EVERY SINGLE night of the week!  but even then I didn't drink, I'd just enjoy hanging with friends, dancing with girls, watching everyone get plastered!  I was always the designated driver, never really bothered me or anything, was always a good time, and I don't think any of my friends thought I was a buzz kill or anything!

Sober dancing is a pretty gay thing for a fella to do, ya know.

was guest bartending the other night, drank a couple beers, couldnt fall asleep until 2-3 am cuz my heart rate was so fast from the alcohol

On Friday night, went to Philly and with a bunch of friends played poker, killed a bottle of Jack and Jameson then passed around the 'tray' ...it wasn't fire though but I won money so it was all good...got to sleep around 6 am.

Haven`t drank in many years now,but on weekends,I go to bars and randomly headbutt people that I don`t like the looks of.

Great way to pass time,stay sober,still getting out and enjoying the nitelife, and it`s a fun and rewarding hobby/pastime.   :)

Depends on your interests. I'm into electronic music/raves big time so I don't need to drink/do drugs, I get high on music, literally. I meet a lot of people who are the same. Find a place/fun stuff to do where people doesn't get drunk, it does exist, trust me..

Meh I find living in a small time for me made it alot easier to quit drinking, you have the whole outdoor element that dosen't exist in a city, not to mention most forms of entertainment are much cheaper.

 ???  - Alcohol is a depressant.  Very odd that it would increase your heart rate.  Are you sure the beers weren't laced with amphetimines?

Go to the gym.....play video games at home.....watch a few movies on the big screen......tinker in the garage on your ride......take your gf/wife out to a nice restaurant......a long drive.

no it isn't, also a depressant doesn't mean what u think it means, it's both a depressant and a stimulant just like the GABA neurotransmitter that it imitates
