I pretty much agree.

Crabtree is a good player. The good news for you is he appears to be replacing the TE as Smith's favorite target.

Regarding Smith...that 4th down TD pass in the final quarter was clutch. So who knows what that will do for his confidence. He was absolute stud on the college level but there's plenty of evidence that shows that it doesn't always translate to the pro level.

I agree. I was so damn bewildered as to why Harbaugh & Co resigned Smith and the only answer they really gave was "We didn't see any better options out there."

Hey...they're 5-1. If you're a 49ers fan, you can't be dissapointed with that.

That final TD pass was clutch. The entire last drive was clutch. I hope he continues to improve. I'm not a believer in him yet.

I'm not a believer in him yet either. Post up all the stats you want, in the end, I'm seeing Harbaugh having a tremendous influence on him because whether the numbers show it or not, Smith didn't look like this on a regular basis last year. We still have plenty of games and time left for the old A. Smith to return...but I hope that guy is benched!

Best start in over a decade, of course I'm excited and can't be disappointed with that.

They started off decently the last season or two, but then tanked. So far we're proving we're for real, especially with last weeks win.

I picked up the 49ers defense in fantasy as a back up. Might come in handy to play them when they face their weaker division opponents.

As long as Alex Smith doesn't try to do more than he's capable of, the 49ers could win 10-11 games. Hopefully, Gore can stay healthy.

I know its VERY early, but SF might be the only nfc team to give the Packers a go. They can pound the ball with Gore and keep the Packers offense off the field. The Eagles have the talent, but not sold on the defensive skeem they run.

You can almost predict that Alex Smith will shit the bed sooner or later....But the 49ers are built on a strong running game and stout defense. I hope Gore can stay healthy.

Agree with you on all accounts. Every play I hold my breath thinking the A. Smith of old could/might come back for an appearance. I think Harbaugh has done a great job of at least staving off that possibility for the longest amount of time.
