I think the only thing Arnold was crushing in 1980 was his maid.

If he hadn't entered late and had his legs in better condition, there would have been no controversy.

Yes its obvious and he did look down on most people.
Obviously he's lost a couple of inches and
He recently admitted that when he said 6'5" joe manganiello is 5inches taller. Arnold used to stick by the 6'2" claim, like basile said he could have been 6'2 in the morning

The only controversy of that day was that Arnold shouldn't entered the contest, that's it... Another myth of that Olympia was that Mentzer was in his best shape, lol, absolutely not... No chest, average back, narrow as fuck and probably the first one in history to sport a distended stomach... Uncrowned my ass, maybe the year or years before the '80, when he looked far better against Zane... Arnold wasn't in bad shape, altough smaller, he came more shredded, dry and conditioned than ever before just because at that time the standard was Zane's detailed, conditioned, ripped body... Arnold won that contest in my opinion...

Actually near Zane and Mentzer, both around 5'8 absolute max (maybe 5'7.5), he looks at best 6' foot... Everyone barefoot, no shoes and magic lifts, Arnold peak height was around that in my opinion, 6'-5'11.5, not 6'1 or 6'2...

Arnold and Mentzer were both awesome!!!!

Mentzer was thick.......Arnold was good enough to win though in 80.

people do not give Dickerson enough credit......the man looked unreal in 80!!!

crazy detail and awesome calves and tris.......great stage presentation too.

Arnold destroys him.
Cant believe he drove himself to death whining about the result the rest of his life, bloke believed his own hype. Should have put it behind him and moved on

Arnold is TRULY AN ICON,
He had it all  physically but more importantly he had it- has it MENTALLY
He believed he was the GOAT and did whatever it took to win - whatever it took, how many people are willing to go to those lengths?
I guarantee he would have been President if it was legal to do so for him

When you think of other sports they all have their 'greats"- Jordan, Ruth, Ali, the Yankees, Notre Dame etc... but they all had their rivals who are still mentioned and thought of when their names are mentioned - but Arnold- ?  yeah, maybe Oliva- but when you talk weights or bodybuilding EVERYBODY thinks Arnold first

Truly in a class by himself
