No problem brother!!  :)

High protein, moderate to high fat,low carbs......back in the 1970`s that is.

Not much cardio but 20 sets per most bodyparts twice weekly.

Someone posted a youtube of one of these guys answering that very question. It was pretty interesting. As Wes said, it was high protein and low carb. Lots of omelettes and cottage cheese. With a carby Sunday.

Did they train quick like Gironda advocated ? I know Arnold said one of the things he changed when landing in the states was reducing rest between sets to 30 - 60 seconds and using more supersets etc to chase the pump - obviously heavy high rep squatting you wouldnt be resting 30 seconds  :D

the old school look hadn't anything to do with how they trained (except maybe for legs not being as prioritized, but that is also a question of equipment), the difference is drug use.

i see nothing impressive with those photos. a bunch of wash-outs from the human race fleeing from the demands of life. perpetual teenagers playing boy's games instead of men's games. with the exception of the nazi they're all either dead or broke. may as well post post pictures of homeless bums.

If you don't see anything impressive with these pics then you are a stone cold bitter loser.....the aesthetics on these guys were amazing.....classic physiques with great lines and flowing details....their abs were amazing and these guys worked hard....I always admired Rick Wayne's physique....

"aesthetics" pay the  bills? provide security for later in life? is that why zabo and guiliani were broke and sponged off of joe gold and slept in the gym? real men work.

Real men chart their own course in life....bodybuilding was important to them for some reason and they pursued their goals.....they have to live with the consequences in the end.....Many of those guys had regular jobs....you act as if all they did was hang out in the gym all day...maybe Arnold and a select few others did because they had contracts with Weider....we are looking at the merits of their work vs the work that today's bodybuilders do.....its no contest....the old guys looked better and healthier
