A lot of his exercise modifications were great........his nutritional advice=OK,his suppllement advice was insane.

But then again,back then ,nobody knew too much.......at least he was thinking and innovative while others were sheeplike.

He was a nut though from all accounts.  :)

Fucking guy was awesome but always came in 2nd. to someone else andnever got his pro-card!  :(

Right.....looked it up yesterday and saw it was Labrada..............nev er knew that, or I probably just forgot it.

i remember when dickerson won in 82 and they didnt have a sandow available and gave him a trophy instead,i think later they sent him his sandow.

I agree that this was a better era. The bloated physiques of today are horrible. However, many pros and top amateurs still train quite hard- for example, Hide was doing heavy squatting and deadlifts in prep for the Olympia. Tito Raymond does very heavy squats and deadlifts for his size. There are still hardcore trainers at Gold's and elsewhere. Also, there is nothing wrong with mixing in machines when they are effective.
