i forgot to add ms olympia carla dunlop trained there in the morning to back then, she used to work out with shirley kemper. carla was/is really good people

i remember dennis tinerino training there also for a 2 day period, he had great shape and was a great guy. it seemed like back then the gym atmosphere was more laid back, guys came to train hard and most where always willing to help me out with my routine and give me valuable tips that i still use today. them guys in diamond where doing the low carb thing back then when the general public had no clue about dieting. kempers a bodybuilding guru imo

i'm pretty sure Cardillo now owns a chain of fitness centers and is megarich.  i saw a show where he was interviewed and has an olympic sized swim pool in his house.

ND has all the early 80's muscle and fitness mags I grew up on. Mine were read so much the covers fell off.

I couldn't get the old ironman in Australia where I live. I liked muscle digest too though.

Here is the first mag I ever bought. Mine was scrap paper by the time I finished with it. I was 11 years old. I think the spark was seeing the news report about the 80 Olympia on tv and also seeing Zane on that hart to hart episode called pumping gold (on YouTube now btw).
