That would eliminate the guys who don't adapt.  If they end up with 1 or 2 years of shows with only a few competitors, that is the price to pay to right the system.  Though you'd lose the hardcore fans who want big, bloated bodybuilders who have way too much muscle for their frame (250-60 lbs on a person 5'8" tall is ridiculous), you would actually gain more fans who see aesthetic, obtainable physiques that are the ideal, rather than freaky, mass-monsters who are a joke.

What you're saying is 100% spot on

But cannot happen

The promoters and industry would decline short term, and although it would increase revenue long term and have benefits all round. The shrt term buck is what matters to the hustlers.

Saddest thing is, whilst we in this thread are sharing distaste for current physiques,

The current generation has grown up with this, to the point that haney was a

swimmer, zane was a marathon runner and gaspari and labrada were gym rats in

their(not all, but some of the kids)  perspective...

And to think, that at a time, haney, belknap, mendenhall, king etc were monsters,

And to some "too much" already...

IMO, ud have to be blind not to notice that when the gut girth exceeds chest girth, somethings not right

I actually think that some of the younger generation is also disgusted with the current state of affairs in bodybuilding. I think most people- including young people- frown upon the guts.

It seems like things have a chance to turn around with Heath- as he is not a monstrosity like Yates or Coleman

As an early 20 year old - yes. Coleman / Cutler are disgusting.

All true, that's why I phrased it "some"

But heath is also filled with seo in delts and arms boatloads of slin and gh
Whatever happened to "attainable" physiques where all you had to do to emulate your heroes was train, eat, have good structure, and an amazing response to a boatload of anabolics! The good ol days..

Great pic, but how Rich ever placed 2nd-3rd in the Mr O. was beyond me.  He came in shape 95% of the time, but he had waaaay too many structure flaws and not nearly enough mass.  Rich couldn't beat Haney on his worst day.
X2......Very true statement!

So, apparently the Gold's Gym in Redondo Beach has switched management and is no longer affiliated with Gold's Gym. I found this out today after driving all the way down there to find out that they wouldn't allow me to work out there (I had a travel pass from Venice Gold's). The guy at the desk said the transfer of management happened last week.

Is Gold's going out of business entirely, not just Venice Gold's?

Does World Gym exist anywhere any more?

Gold's new owners have gotten too greedy and want a slice of the gross revenue. The original owners practically gave away franchises and made their money on the T shirt sales.
