Totally. He used the squat to work his lower back and ass.

He needs to lower the weight and actually work the quads.

If Phil was really helping him out he would have told him how shitty his form was and instructed him how to improve it.
if you look at where he places the bar on his back and then how he spreads his feet its as if hes deliberately making his body shorter to increase his leverage, that form is fine for powerlifting where the point is to move the biggest weight from point A to point B but look closely at his quads when he squats, they hardly move and they definitely dont flex.

he does what anyone who tries to appear strong in the squat does when they really arent, he keeps his hips locked in place and leverages the weight with his ass and back, any true squatter can unlock their hips and go all the way down, thats squatting.

its true though, go back and watch that clip and i'll gaurantee you that if youd have seen Delarosas quads they would have way more development than Juans, Delarosas squat form is as picture perfect as ive ever seen from a bodybuilder, almost reminds me of Tom Platz, like a piston moving up and down.

I totally agree.

It resembles a good morning more then it does a squat. His quads get zero out of that movement.

And Jon is a really small heavyweight whereas Juan is a Super heavy.

Heath actually gave some solid training tips about longevity in this sport and he is a solid spokesperson as Mr. O.  It's easy to see why they would want him to be the ambassador of this sport.  All the guys who had long AND HEALTHY (meaning no major physical injuries) careers trained smarter not harder.  Even for all the weight Coleman would move, he was still a volume guy on a day to day basis throughout his bodybuilding career.

On another note, Phil does look a little bit narrow here, but I am wondering what material that tee shirt is made of??

Phil, if you are reading this, what material is that Gifted Athletics shirt made from?

Jon and Juan are both talented bodybuilders.  Juan has a great structure, similar to Vic Martinez actually (my training partner pointed this out and when I looked at it more closely, he's right) and Jon is a thick guy.  However, I still wonder why Flex signed Juan??  Strictly thinking from a business standpoint, the guy sounds really bad on camera.  Not that most bodybuilders sound like they won the Pulitzer or anything, but Juan sounds so bad that it actually is distracting.

Anyway, just my 2 pennies...

exactly my point, look at the difference in thickness and development, Juans arent bad just not as thick and full as Delarosas and they definitley dont match his upper body in size.
