There's a lot more to it than just that. The way I do inclines I definitely hit my chest well.

I vary the degree of inclination depending on how I feel and I've always liked using a suicide grip too. The way I do inclines my front delts are dead. I also scale the weight back so there's more isolation to the chest and shoulders and arms don't need to come into play. It was a hit to the ego at first, but if my chest develops faster than all the big benchers who keep getting injured then I'm the one laughing. 8)

OK, BUT WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO BE OPEN MINDED AND TRY OUT DECLINE PRESS? AND TELL ME IF YOU CAN FIND THE RIGHT POSITION FOR THAT TO STIMULATE YOUR CHEST.

YOUŽLL BE ABLE TO USE HEAVIER WEIGHT FOR THE MOST PART ON IT.

Yeah the shape is genetic. But for me, flat movements never really worked, incline barbell and dumbells were good though. Then I started doing more smith machine incline and hammer incline and they def work better for me.

How you respond to an exercise probably depends on your structure. For me, incline presses of any kind don't suit me too well; flat presses, particularly flat barbell press has given me the best results. The pumps and overall muscle activation i feel from that exercise I don't feel with others.

Also, another great chest builder I think is the decline db press. great exercise! You'll be surprised with how good this exercise is if you haven't tried it yet.

It must be that, I've heard some guys saying that Pec flys with dumbells are a great exercise but it's one of my least favorite exercises ever.

Absolutely. I actually forget to do decline presses because the decline bench is usually way across our gym. But when I do them, I have a great workout.

Sometimes I even do flat bench in the smith machine, but I sit up with my head off the bench and push hard with my lower chest. Next chest workout I'll make sure to not be lazy and drag that stupid old decline bench over to the smith machine. I've been having really good chest workouts lately and wouldn't mind keeping the momentum going.

the conclusion is there is no "best" exercise

everyone feels/likes a certain exercise better than another

in terms of building great pecs, you need to rely more on the hormones and such rather than the exercises

chest shape is genetical, some have great chest others dont. Most people who started weight lifting by focusing exageratly on their arms often have weak chest due to the overdevelopment of biceps and triceps.  No flat or incline bench press ever worked for me, it mostly only destroyed my shoulders.

I think dips are the best exercise to develop a full chest even if you re not genetically gifted in that area.
couldnt agree more, it's almost as if i wrote it myself.

20-30 degree incline setting for best pec stimulation.

Everybody is different and responds differently to different movements/exercises.  This is why BBing is such a great thing.  Different.

It is annoying that the angle is pre-set for incline barbell press- usually the angle is too high

DECLINE PRESS. TRY THIS WHILE STANDING...

PUT YOUR ARMS UP IN AN INCLINE MOTION--SEE ITS MASSIVE FRONT DELT ACCUMULATION.
PUT YOUR ARMS STRAIGHT IN A FLAT BENCH  MOTION-- ITS SOME CHEST, SOME ARMS, SOME DELTS
PUT YOUR ARMS DOWN IN FRONT OF YOUR STOMACH--SEE ITS ALL CHEST.

PEOPLE WITH MASSIVE INCLINE PRESSES, HAVE MASSIVE FRONT DELTS. ITS A FRONT DELT EXERCISE.

x a billion

well, not just delt, but i agree that the inclines fries the front delts

i feel inclines hit like 30-delt 40-chest 30-tricep

whereas declines remove the delts as much from the equation and hit 45-chest   35-triceps  10 - front delt

i think they are all great exercises, i don't do inclines on chest day if i hit shoulders on a diff day in that routine, sometimes i do if i do shoulders same day

i never had strong front delts; so my inclines suffer, but i have a strong chest so i have a good decline and can dip with lrg amount of weights chained to my waist

i had the most insane chest pumps doing decline dumbbell presses, like my pecs are about to explode out of my shirt kind of pumps

Where did i state i have a "monster chest" ? Funny how you re always obsessively trying to turn everything into a "i have a bigger ... than you" even when nobody's actually trying to prove you anything. Poor dude. Must be the reason of your steroid use i guess.

I have a naturally developped chest that is more developped than the average skinny fat joe who doesnt practize any physical activity but that's about it. I almost feel like i should bitchslap your loser's face by posting a pic ...
